<p class="poetry">saying,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Don&#8217;t touch my chosen<n id="2" /> ones!p> <p class="poetry">Don&#8217;t harm my prophets!&#8221;p>

Then the high priest<n id="1" /> must bring some of the blood of the bull to the Meeting Tent,

<p class="poetry">The <sc>Lordsc> strengthens his people;<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">he protects and delivers his chosen king.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">O God, take notice of our shield!<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">Show concern for your chosen king!<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">But you have spurned<n id="1" /> and rejected him;p> <p class="poetry">you are angry with your chosen king.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">For the sake of David, your servant,p> <p class="poetry">do not reject your chosen king!<n id="1" />p>

<p class="poetry">There I will make David strong;<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">I have determined that my chosen king&#8217;s dynasty will continue.<n id="2" />p>

Then that high priest must take some of the blood<n id="1" /> of the bull and bring it to the Meeting Tent.

The high priest who succeeds him<n id="1" /> from among his sons must do it. It is a perpetual statute; it must be offered up in smoke as a whole offering to the <sc>Lordsc>.

<p class="bodytext">When they arrived, Samuel<n id="1" /> noticed<n id="2" /> Eliab and said to himself,<n id="3" /> &#8220;Surely, here before the <sc>Lordsc> stands his chosen king!&#8221;<n id="4" />

David replied to him, &#8220;How is it that you were not afraid to reach out your hand to destroy the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s anointed?&#8221;

<p class="poetry">He gives his chosen king magnificent victories;<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">he is faithful to his chosen ruler,<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">to David and to his descendants forever!&#8221;p>

O <sc>Lordsc> God, do not reject your chosen ones!<n id="1" /> Remember the faithful promises you made to your servant David!&#8221;p>

<p class="poetry">The kings of the earth<n id="1" /> form a united front;<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">the rulers collaborate<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">against the <sc>Lordsc> and his anointed king.<n id="4" />p>

<p class="poetry">He<n id="1" /> gives his chosen king magnificent victories;<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">he is faithful<n id="3" /> to his chosen ruler,<n id="4" />p> <p class="poetry">to David and his descendants<n id="5" /> forever.&#8221;<n id="6" />p>

<p class="poetry">Your enemies, O <sc>Lordsc>, hurl insults;p> <p class="poetry">they insult your chosen king as they dog his footsteps.<n id="1" />p>

<p class="lamhebrew">&#1512; (<i>Reshi>)p> <p class="poetry">Our very life breath &#8211; the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s anointed king<n id="1" /> &#8211;p> <p class="poetry">was caught in their traps,<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">of whom we thought,<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;Under his protection<n id="4" /> we will survive among the nations.&#8221;p>

He said to his men, &#8220;May the <sc>Lordsc> keep me far away from doing such a thing to my lord, who is the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s chosen one,<n id="1" /> by extending my hand against him. After all,<n id="2" /> he is the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s chosen one.&#8221;<n id="3" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;If the high priest<n id="1" /> sins so that the people are guilty,<n id="2" /> on account of the sin he has committed he must present a flawless young bull to the <sc>Lordsc><n id="3" /> for a sin offering.<n id="4" />
