For six days<n id="1" /> you may labor<n id="2" /> and do all your work,<n id="3" />

So now, get back to work!<n id="1" /> You will not be given straw, but you must still produce<n id="2" /> your quota<n id="3" /> of bricks!&#8221;

<t /><n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;If you buy<n id="2" /> a Hebrew servant,<n id="3" /> he is to serve you for six years, but in the seventh year he will go out free<n id="4" /> without paying anything.<n id="5" />

You must serve<n id="1" /> the <sc>Lordsc> your God, and he<n id="2" /> will bless your bread and your water,<n id="3" /> and I will remove sickness from your midst.

Isn&#8217;t this what we told you<n id="1" /> in Egypt, &#8216;Leave us alone so that we can serve the Egyptians,<n id="2" /> because it is better for us to serve<n id="3" /> the Egyptians than to die in the desert!&#8217;&#8221;<n id="4" />p>

They made their lives bitter<n id="1" /> by<n id="2" /> hard service with mortar and bricks and by all kinds of service<n id="3" /> in the fields. Every kind of service the Israelites were required to give was rigorous.<n id="4" />p>

and I said to you, &#8216;Let my son go that he may serve<n id="1" /> me,&#8217; but since you have refused to let him go,<n id="2" /> I will surely kill<n id="3" /> your son, your firstborn!&#8221;&#8217;&#8221;p>

I<n id="1" /> have also heard<n id="2" /> the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving,<n id="3" /> and I have remembered my covenant.<n id="4" />

Tell him, &#8216;The <sc>Lordsc>, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to you to say,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Release my people, that they may serve me<n id="2" /> in the desert!&#8221; But until now<n id="3" /> you have not listened.<n id="4" />

<v id="(7:26)" /><n id="1" /> Then the <sc>Lordsc> said to Moses, &#8220;Go to Pharaoh and tell him, &#8216;Thus says the <sc>Lordsc>: &#8220;Release my people in order that they may serve me!

<t /><n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">Then the <sc>Lordsc> said to Moses, &#8220;Go to Pharaoh and tell him, &#8216;Thus says the <sc>Lord,sc> the God of the Hebrews, &#8220;Release my people that they may serve me!

<p class="bodytext">So Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh, and he said to them, &#8220;Go, serve the <sc>Lordsc> your God. Exactly who is going with you?&#8221;<n id="1" />

No!<n id="1" /> Go, you men<n id="2" /> only, and serve the <sc>Lordsc>, for that<n id="3" /> is what you want.&#8221;<n id="4" /> Then Moses and Aaron<n id="5" /> were driven<n id="6" /> out of Pharaoh&#8217;s presence.p>

<p class="bodytext">Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and said, &#8220;Go, serve the <sc>Lordsc> &#8211; only your flocks and herds will be detained. Even your families<n id="1" /> may go with you.&#8221;p>

then his master must bring him to the judges,<n id="1" /> and he will bring him to the door or the doorposts, and his master will pierce his ear with an awl, and he shall serve him forever.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;You must not bow down to their gods; you must not serve them or do according to their practices. Instead you must completely overthrow them and smash their standing stones<n id="1" /> to pieces.<n id="2" />

They must not live in your land, lest they make you sin against me, for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare<n id="1" /> to you.&#8221;p>
