<p class="bodytext">&#8220;Let us<n id="1" /> pass through your land;<n id="2" /> we will not turn aside into the fields or into the vineyards, nor will we drink water from any well, but we will go along the King&#8217;s Highway until we pass your borders.&#8221;

and then the border will turn from the south to the Scorpion Ascent,<n id="1" /> continue to Zin, and then its direction<n id="2" /> will be from the south to Kadesh Barnea. Then it will go to Hazar Addar and pass over to Azmon.

Please let us pass through<n id="1" /> your country. We will not pass through the fields or through the vineyards, nor will we drink water from any well. We will go by the King&#8217;s Highway;<n id="2" /> we will not turn to the right or the left until we have passed through your region.&#8217;&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

But Moses said, &#8220;Why<n id="1" /> are you now transgressing the commandment<n id="2" /> of the <sc>Lordsc>? It will not succeed!

<p class="bodytext">But Edom said to him, &#8220;You will not pass through me,<n id="1" /> or I will come out against<n id="2" /> you with the sword.&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">But he said, &#8220;You may not pass through.&#8221; Then Edom came out against them<n id="1" /> with a large and powerful force.<n id="2" />

So Edom refused to give Israel passage through his border; therefore Israel turned away from him.p>

but your servants will cross over, every man armed for war, to do battle in the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s presence, just as my lord says.&#8221;p>

But if they do not cross over with you armed, they must receive possessions among you in Canaan.&#8221;

We will cross armed in the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s presence into the land of Canaan, and then the possession of our inheritance that we inherit will be ours on this side of the Jordan River.&#8221;<n id="1" />p>

and if jealous feelings<n id="1" /> come over him and he becomes suspicious<n id="2" /> of his wife, when she is defiled;<n id="3" /> or if jealous feelings come over him and he becomes suspicious of his wife, when she is not defiled &#8211;

everything that may stand the fire, you are to pass through the fire,<n id="1" /> and it will be ceremonially clean, but it must still be purified with the water of purification. Anything that cannot withstand the fire you must pass through the water.

And do this<n id="1" /> to them to purify them: Sprinkle water of purification<n id="2" /> on them; then have them shave<n id="3" /> all their body<n id="4" /> and wash<n id="5" /> their clothes, and so purify themselves.<n id="6" />

They said to the whole community of the Israelites, &#8220;The land we passed through to investigate is an exceedingly<n id="1" /> good land.

Then the Israelites said to him, &#8220;We will go along the highway, and if we<n id="1" /> or our cattle drink any of your water, we will pay for it. We will only pass through on our feet, without doing anything else.&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">Then the angel of the <sc>Lordsc> went farther, and stood in a narrow place, where there was no way to turn either to the right or to the left.

&#8220;The daughters of Zelophehad have a valid claim.<n id="1" /> You must indeed<n id="2" /> give them possession of an inheritance among their father&#8217;s relatives, and you must transfer<n id="3" /> the inheritance of their father to them.

And you must tell the Israelites, &#8216;If a man dies<n id="1" /> and has no son, then you must transfer his inheritance to his daughter;

So they said, &#8220;If we have found favor in your sight,<n id="1" /> let this land be given to your servants for our inheritance. Do not have us cross<n id="2" /> the Jordan River.&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

Why do you frustrate the intent<n id="1" /> of the Israelites to cross over into the land which the <sc>Lordsc> has given them?
