The holy ones<n id="1" /> of the Most High will receive the kingdom and will take possession of the kingdom forever and ever.&#8217;p>

saying,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;Let the name of God<n id="2" /> be praised<n id="3" /> forever and ever,p> <p class="poetry">for wisdom and power belong to him.p>

They said<n id="1" /> to King Nebuchadnezzar, &#8220;O king, live forever!<n id="2" />

The wise men replied to the king: [What follows is in Aramaic<n id="1" />] &#8220;O king, live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will disclose its<n id="2" /> interpretation.&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">Then Daniel spoke to<n id="1" /> the king, &#8220;O king, live forever!

In the days of those kings the God of heaven will raise up an everlasting kingdom that will not be destroyed and a kingdom that will not be left to another people. It will break in pieces and bring about the demise of all these kingdoms. But it will stand forever.

<p class="bodytext">But at the end of the appointed time<n id="1" /> I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up<n id="2" /> toward heaven, and my sanity returned to me.p> <p class="poetry">I extolled the Most High,p> <p class="poetry">and I praised and glorified the one who lives forever.p> <p class="poetry">For his authority is an everlasting authority,p> <p class="poetry">and his kingdom extends from one generation to the next.p>

So I gave orders,<n id="1" /> and it was determined<n id="2" /> that this city from long ago has been engaging in insurrection against kings. It has continually engaged in<n id="3" /> rebellion and revolt.

<p class="poetry">&#8220;How great are his signs!p> <p class="poetry">How mighty are his wonders!p> <p class="poetry">His kingdom will last forever,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">and his authority continues from one generation to the next.&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">So these supervisors and satraps came by collusion<n id="1" /> to the king and said<n id="2" /> to him, &#8220;O King Darius, live forever!

so that he may initiate a search of the records<n id="1" /> of his predecessors<n id="2" /> and discover in those records<n id="3" /> that this city is rebellious<n id="4" /> and injurious to both kings and provinces, producing internal revolts<n id="5" /> from long ago.<n id="6" /> It is for this very reason that this city was destroyed.

<p class="bodytext">Due to the noise<n id="1" /> caused by the king and his nobles, the queen mother<n id="2" /> then entered the banquet room. She<n id="3" /> said, &#8220;O king, live forever! Don&#8217;t be alarmed! Don&#8217;t be shaken!

<p class="poetry">To him was given ruling authority, honor, and sovereignty.p> <p class="poetry">All peoples, nations, and language groups were serving<n id="1" /> him.p> <p class="poetry">His authority is eternal and will not pass away.<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">His kingdom will not be destroyed.<n id="3" />p>

<p class="poetry">Then the kingdom, authority,p> <p class="poetry">and greatness of the kingdoms under all of heavenp> <p class="poetry">will be delivered to the people of the holy ones<n id="1" /> of the Most High.p> <p class="poetry">His kingdom is an eternal kingdom;p> <p class="poetry">all authorities will serve him and obey him.&#8217;p>

I have issued an edict that throughout all the dominion of my kingdom people are to revere and fear the God of Daniel.p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;For he is the living God;p> <p class="poetry">he endures forever.p> <p class="poetry">His kingdom will not be destroyed;p> <p class="poetry">his authority is forever.<n id="1" />p>
