He must not defile himself as a husband among his people so as to profane himself.<n id="1" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then he presented the people&#8217;s offering. He took the sin offering male goat which was for the people, slaughtered it, and performed a decontamination rite with it<n id="1" /> like the first one.<n id="2" />

Moses and Aaron then entered into the Meeting Tent. When they came out, they blessed the people, and the glory of the <sc>Lordsc> appeared to all the people.

He must not profane his children among his people,<n id="1" /> for I am the <sc>Lordsc> who sanctifies him.&#8217;&#8221;p>

Any person who eats any blood &#8211; that person will be cut off from his people.&#8217;&#8221;<n id="1" />p>

<p class="bodytext">Then Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them and descended from making the sin offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offering.

For if anyone does any of these abominations, the persons who do them will be cut off from the midst of their people.<n id="1" />

and the one who eats it will bear his punishment for iniquity<n id="1" /> because he has profaned<n id="2" /> what is holy to the <sc>Lordsc>.<n id="3" /> That person will be cut off from his people.<n id="4" />p>

You must not go about as a slanderer among your people.<n id="1" /> You must not stand idly by when your neighbor&#8217;s life is at stake.<n id="2" /> I am the <sc>Lordsc>.

You must not take vengeance or bear a grudge<n id="1" /> against the children of your people, but you must love your neighbor as yourself.<n id="2" /> I am the <sc>Lordsc>.

Indeed,<n id="1" /> any person who does not behave with humility on this particular day will be cut off from his people.<n id="2" />

I will walk among you, and I will be your God and you will be my people.

Moses then said to Aaron, &#8220;Approach the altar and make your sin offering and your burnt offering, and make atonement on behalf of yourself and on behalf of the people;<n id="1" /> and also make the people&#8217;s offering and make atonement on behalf of them just as the <sc>Lordsc> has commanded.&#8221;p>

Then he must bathe his body in water in a holy place, put on his clothes, and go out and make his burnt offering and the people&#8217;s burnt offering. So he is to make atonement<n id="1" /> on behalf of himself and the people.<n id="2" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;If the high priest<n id="1" /> sins so that the people are guilty,<n id="2" /> on account of the sin he has committed he must present a flawless young bull to the <sc>Lordsc><n id="3" /> for a sin offering.<n id="4" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;If an ordinary individual<n id="1" /> sins by straying unintentionally<n id="2" /> when he violates one of the Lord&#8217;s commandments which must not be violated,<n id="3" /> and he pleads guilty

The person who eats meat from the peace offering sacrifice which belongs to the <sc>Lordsc> while his uncleanness persists<n id="1" /> will be cut off from his people.<n id="2" />

If anyone eats fat from the animal from which he presents a gift to the <sc>Lordsc>, that person will be cut off from his people.<n id="1" />

Then fire went out from the presence of the <sc>Lordsc><n id="1" /> and consumed the burnt offering and the fat parts on the altar, and all the people saw it, so they shouted loudly and fell down with their faces to the ground.<n id="2" />p>

Moses then said to Aaron, &#8220;This is what the <sc>Lordsc> spoke: &#8216;Among the ones close to me I will show myself holy,<n id="1" /> and in the presence of all the people I will be honored.&#8217;&#8221;<n id="2" /> So Aaron kept silent.
