<p class="poetry">A time to search, and a time to give something up as lost;<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">a time to keep, and a time to throw away;p>

<p class="poetry">A time to rip, and a time to sew;p> <p class="poetry">a time to keep silent, and a time to speak.p>

<p class="poetry">A time to love, and a time to hate;p> <p class="poetry">a time for war, and a time for peace.p>

<p class="poetry">A time to be born,<n id="1" /> and a time to die;<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">a time to plant, and a time to uproot what was planted;p>

<p class="poetry">A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones;p> <p class="poetry">a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;p>

<t /><p class="poetry">For everything<n id="1" /> there is an appointed time,<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">and an appropriate time<n id="3" /> for every activity<n id="4" /> on earth:<n id="5" />p>

<p class="poetry">Do not be excessively wicked and do not be a fool;p> <p class="poetry">otherwise<n id="1" /> you might die before your time.p>

<p class="poetry">Whoever obeys his<n id="1" /> command will not experience harm,p> <p class="poetry">and a wise person<n id="2" /> knows the proper time<n id="3" /> and procedure.p>

<p class="poetry">For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter,p> <p class="poetry">for the oppression<n id="1" /> of the king<n id="2" /> is severe upon his victim.<n id="3" />p>

<p class="poetry">Let your clothes always be white,p> <p class="poetry">and do not spare precious ointment on your head.p>

<p class="poetry">Blessed are you, O land, when your king is the son of nobility,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">and your princes feast at the proper time<n id="2" /> &#8211; with self-control and not in drunkenness.<n id="3" />p>

<p class="poetry">Surely, no one<n id="1" /> knows his appointed time!<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">Like fish that are caught in a deadly<n id="3" /> net, and like birds that are caught in a snare &#8211;p> <p class="poetry">just like them, all people<n id="4" /> are ensnared<n id="5" /> at an unfortunate<n id="6" /> time that falls upon them suddenly.p>

<p class="poetry">I thought to myself, &#8220;God will judge both the righteous and the wicked;p> <p class="poetry">for there is an appropriate time for every activity,p> <p class="poetry">and there is a time of judgment<n id="1" /> for every deed. p>

<p class="poetry">God has made everything fit beautifully<n id="1" /> in its appropriate time,p> <p class="poetry">but<n id="2" /> he has also placed ignorance<n id="3" /> in the human heart<n id="4" />p> <p class="poetry">so that<n id="5" /> people<n id="6" /> cannot discover what God has ordained,<n id="7" />p> <p class="poetry">from the beginning to the end<n id="8" /> of their lives.<n id="9" />p>

<p class="poetry">While applying<n id="1" /> my mind<n id="2" /> to everything<n id="3" /> that happens in this world,<n id="4" /> I have seen all this:p> <p class="poetry">Sometimes one person<n id="5" /> dominates<n id="6" /> other people<n id="7" /> to their harm.<n id="8" />p>

<t /><p class="poetry">Again,<n id="1" /> I observed this on the earth:<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">the race is not always<n id="3" /> won by the swiftest,p> <p class="poetry">the battle is not always won by the strongest;p> <p class="poetry">prosperity<n id="4" /> does not always belong to those who are the wisest,p> <p class="poetry">wealth does not always belong to those who are the most discerning,p> <p class="poetry">nor does success<n id="5" /> always come to those with the most knowledge &#8211;p> <p class="poetry">for time and chance may overcome<n id="6" /> them all.p>
