<p class="poetry">They mock<n id="1" /> and say evil things;<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">they proudly threaten violence.<n id="3" />p>

<p class="poetry">Make us happy in proportion to the days you have afflicted us,p> <p class="poetry">in proportion to the years we have experienced<n id="1" /> trouble!p>

<p class="poetry">and a fruitful land into a barren place,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">because of the sin of its inhabitants.p>

<p class="poetry">As for their enemies,<n id="1" /> they decreased in number and were beaten down,p> <p class="poetry">because of painful distress<n id="2" /> and suffering.p>

<p class="poetry">or have wronged my ally,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">or helped his lawless enemy,<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">Break the arm<n id="1" /> of the wicked and evil man!p> <p class="poetry">Hold him accountable for his wicked deeds,<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">which he thought you would not discover.<n id="3" />p>

<p class="poetry">Then make sure you don&#8217;t speak evil words<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">or use deceptive speech!<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">Turn away from evil and do what is right!<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">Strive for peace and promote it!<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">But the <sc>Lordsc> opposes evildoersp> <p class="poetry">and wipes out all memory of them from the earth.<n id="1" />p>

<p class="poetry">The godly<n id="1" /> face many dangers,<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">but the <sc>Lordsc> saves<n id="3" /> them<n id="4" /> from each one of them.p>

<p class="poetry">Evil people self-destruct;<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">those who hate the godly are punished.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">They will not be ashamed when hard times come;<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">when famine comes they will have enough to eat.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">Why should I be afraid in times of trouble,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">when the sinful deeds of deceptive men threaten to overwhelm me?<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">You love evil more than good,p> <p class="poetry">lies more than speaking the truth.<n id="1" /> (Selah)p>

<p class="poetry">May those who wait to ambush me<n id="1" /> be repaid for their evil!<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">As a demonstration of your faithfulness,<n id="3" /> destroy them!p>
