<p class="bodytext">Haggith&#8217;s son Adonijah visited Bathsheba, Solomon&#8217;s mother. She asked, &#8220;Do you come in peace?&#8221; He answered, &#8220;Yes.&#8221;<n id="1" />

Do to him what you think is appropriate,<n id="1" /> but don&#8217;t let him live long and die a peaceful death.<n id="2" />p>

He ordered, &#8220;Whether they come in peace or to do battle, take them alive.&#8221;<n id="1" />

May Joab and his descendants be perpetually guilty of their shed blood, but may the <sc>Lordsc> give perpetual peace to David, his descendants, his family,<n id="1" /> and his dynasty.&#8221;<n id="2" />

So the <sc>Lordsc> gave Solomon wisdom, as he had promised him. And Hiram and Solomon were at peace and made a treaty.<n id="1" />p>

Say, &#8216;This is what the king says, &#8220;Put this man in prison. Give him only a little bread and water<n id="1" /> until I safely return.&#8221;&#8217;&#8221;<n id="2" />

Micaiah said, &#8220;If you really do safely return, then the <sc>Lordsc> has not spoken through me.&#8221; Then he added, &#8220;Take note,<n id="1" /> all you people.&#8221;p>

His royal court was so large because<n id="1" /> he ruled over all the kingdoms west of the Euphrates River from Tiphsah<n id="2" /> to Gaza; he was at peace with all his neighbors.<n id="3" />

Micaiah<n id="1" /> said, &#8220;I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains like sheep that have no shepherd. Then the <sc>Lordsc> said, &#8216;They have no master. They should go home in peace.&#8217;&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;You know what Joab son of Zeruiah did to me &#8211; how he murdered two commanders of the Israelite armies, Abner son of Ner and Amasa son of Jether.<n id="1" /> During peacetime he struck them down like he would in battle;<n id="2" /> when he shed their blood as if in battle, he stained his own belt and the sandals on his feet.<n id="3" />
