who will go out before them, and who will come in before them,<n id="1" /> and who will lead them out, and who will bring them in, so that<n id="2" /> the community of the <sc>Lordsc> may not be like sheep that have no shepherd.&#8221;p>

then he must confess<n id="1" /> his sin that he has committed and must make full reparation,<n id="2" /> add one fifth to it, and give it to whomever he wronged.<n id="3" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">So Aaron said to Moses, &#8220;O my lord,<n id="1" /> please do not hold this sin against us, in which we have acted foolishly and have sinned!

&#8220;How long must I bear<n id="1" /> with this evil congregation<n id="2" /> that murmurs against me? I have heard the complaints of the Israelites that they murmured against me.

But I will bring in your little ones, whom you said would become victims of war,<n id="1" /> and they will enjoy<n id="2" /> the land that you have despised.

If a resident foreigner is living<n id="1" /> with you &#8211; or whoever is among you<n id="2" /> in future generations<n id="3" /> &#8211; and prepares an offering made by fire as a pleasing aroma to the <sc>Lordsc>, he must do it the same way you are to do it.<n id="4" />

all that the <sc>Lordsc> has commanded you by the authority<n id="1" /> of Moses, from the day that the <sc>Lordsc> commanded Moses and continuing through your future generations &#8211;

And the staff of the man whom I choose will blossom; so I will rid myself of the complaints of the Israelites, which they murmur against you.&#8221;p>

And whatever first ripe fruit in their land they bring to the <sc>Lordsc> will be yours; everyone who is ceremonially clean in your household may eat of it.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">When Balak heard that Balaam was coming, he went out to meet him at a city of Moab which was on the border of the Arnon at the boundary of his territory.

just as the <sc>Lordsc> had commanded Moses. And so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.p>

So Moses numbered them according to the word<n id="1" /> of the <sc>Lordsc>, just as he had been commanded.<n id="2" />p>

So now, let the power of my Lord<n id="1" /> be great, just as you have said,

You must do so for each one according to the number that you prepare.p>

<p class="bodytext">So Moses took the staff from before the <sc>Lordsc>, just as he commanded him.

<p class="bodytext">They traveled from Succoth, and camped in Etham, which is on the edge of the wilderness.

And what I intended to do to them I will do to you.&#8221;p>

These towns that you must give shall be your six towns for refuge.p>

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;This is the law<n id="1" /> of the Nazirite who vows to the <sc>Lordsc> his offering according to his separation, as well as whatever else he can provide.<n id="2" /> Thus he must fulfill<n id="3" /> his vow that he makes, according to the law of his separation.&#8221;p>

Then they presented the Israelites with a discouraging<n id="1" /> report of the land they had investigated, saying, &#8220;The land that we passed through<n id="2" /> to investigate is a land that devours<n id="3" /> its inhabitants.<n id="4" /> All the people we saw there<n id="5" /> are of great stature.
