<p class="poetry">The <sc>Lordsc> lift up his countenance upon you<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">and give you peace.&#8221;&#8217;p>

When<n id="1" /> they blow<n id="2" /> them both, all the community must come<n id="3" /> to you to the entrance of the tent of meeting.p>

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;But if they blow with one trumpet, then the leaders, the heads of the thousands of Israel, must come to you.<n id="1" />

Balak said to Balaam, &#8220;Did I not send again and again<n id="1" /> to you to summon you? Why did you not come to me? Am I not able to honor you?&#8221;<n id="2" />

But Balaam replied<n id="1" /> to Balak, &#8220;Did I not tell you, &#8216;All that the <sc>Lordsc> speaks,<n id="2" /> I must do&#8217;?&#8221;p>

&#8220;This is the ordinance of the law which the <sc>Lordsc> has commanded: &#8216;Instruct<n id="1" /> the Israelites to bring<n id="2" /> you a red<n id="3" /> heifer<n id="4" /> without blemish, which has no defect<n id="5" /> and has never carried a yoke.

God came to Balaam that night, and said to him, &#8220;If the men have come to call you, get up and go with them; but the word that I will say to you, that you must do.&#8221;

But the angel of the <sc>Lordsc> said to Balaam, &#8220;Go with the men, but you may only speak<n id="1" /> the word that I will speak to you.&#8221;<n id="2" /> So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.p>

Balaam said to Balak, &#8220;Look, I have come to you. Now, am I able<n id="1" /> to speak<n id="2" /> just anything? I must speak<n id="3" /> only the word that God puts in my mouth.&#8221;
