Jeroboam passed away<n id="1" /> and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.<n id="2" /> His son Zechariah replaced him as king.p>

The Israelites followed in the sinful ways of Jeroboam son of Nebat and did not repudiate<n id="1" /> them.

He tore Israel away from David&#8217;s dynasty, and Jeroboam son of Nebat became their king.<n id="1" /> Jeroboam drove Israel away<n id="2" /> from the <sc>Lordsc> and encouraged them to commit a serious sin.<n id="3" />

Yet he persisted in<n id="1" /> the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who encouraged Israel to sin; he did not turn from them.<n id="2" />p>

He did evil in the sight of<n id="1" /> the <sc>Lordsc>. He continued in<n id="2" /> the sinful ways of Jeroboam son of Nebat who had encouraged Israel to sin; he did not repudiate those sins.<n id="3" />

But they did not repudiate<n id="1" /> the sinful ways of the family<n id="2" /> of Jeroboam, who encouraged Israel to sin; they continued in those sins.<n id="3" /> There was even an Asherah pole<n id="4" /> standing in Samaria.

He did evil in the sight of<n id="1" /> the <sc>Lordsc>. He did not repudiate<n id="2" /> the sinful ways of Jeroboam son of Nebat who encouraged Israel to sin; he continued in those sins.<n id="3" />

Jehoash passed away<n id="1" /> and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel. His son Jeroboam replaced him as king.)p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">In the fifteenth year of the reign of Judah&#8217;s King Amaziah, son of Joash, Jeroboam son of Joash became king over Israel. He reigned for forty-one years in Samaria.<n id="1" />
