“For Aaron’s sons you are to make tunics, sashes, and headbands ¹  for glory and for beauty.

“You must make no covenant with them or with their gods.

and wrap the sashes around Aaron and his sons ¹  and put headbands on them, and so the ministry of priesthood will belong to them by a perpetual ordinance. Thus you are to consecrate ²  Aaron and his sons.

I will reside ¹  among the Israelites, and I will be their God,

Now the Lord was going before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them in the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, ¹  so that they could ²  travel day or night. ³ 

He jammed ¹  the wheels of their chariots so that they had difficulty driving, ²  and the Egyptians said, “Let’s flee ³  from Israel, for the Lord fights ⁴  for them against Egypt!”

When they have a dispute, ¹  it comes to me and I decide ²  between a man and his neighbor, and I make known the decrees of God and his laws.” ³ 

warn ¹  them of the statutes and the laws, and make known to them the way in which they must walk ²  and the work they must do. ³
