<p class="bodytext">&#8220;Then they will know that I am the <sc>Lordsc> when I disperse them among the nations and scatter them among foreign countries.

I gave them my statutes<n id="1" /> and revealed my regulations to them. The one<n id="2" /> who carries<n id="3" /> them out will live by them!<n id="4" />

I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be a perpetual covenant with them.<n id="1" /> I will establish them,<n id="2" /> increase their numbers, and place my sanctuary among them forever.

But take a few strands of hair<n id="1" /> from those and tie them in the ends of your garment.<n id="2" />

you slaughtered my children and sacrificed them to the idols.<n id="1" />

&#8220;Son of man, I have appointed you a watchman<n id="1" /> for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you must give them a warning from me.

They will wear sackcloth, terror will cover them; shame will be on all their faces, and all of their heads will be shaved bald.<n id="1" />

When the cherubim<n id="1" /> stood still, the wheels<n id="2" /> stood still, and when they rose up, the wheels<n id="3" /> rose up with them, for the spirit<n id="4" /> of the living beings<n id="5" /> was in the wheels.<n id="6" />p>

Yet I had pity on<n id="1" /> them and did not destroy them, so I did not make an end of them in the wilderness.p>

I am the <sc>Lordsc> your God; follow my statutes, observe my regulations, and carry them out.

I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them among foreign countries. Then they will know that I am the <sc>Lordsc>.&#8221;p>

I will turn them and the regions around my hill into a blessing. I will make showers come down in their season; they will be showers that bring blessing.<n id="1" />

You will present them before the <sc>Lordsc>, and the priests will scatter salt on them<n id="1" /> and offer them up as a burnt offering to the <sc>Lordsc>.p>

Yet I will appoint them to keep charge of the temple, all of its service and all that will be done in it.p>

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;As for you, take wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet, and spelt,<n id="1" /> put them in a single container, and make food<n id="2" /> from them for yourself. For the same number of days that you lie on your side &#8211; 390 days<n id="3" /> &#8211; you will eat it.

&#8220;&#8216;But the children<n id="1" /> rebelled against me, did not follow my statutes, did not observe my regulations by carrying them out (the one who obeys<n id="2" /> them will live by them), and desecrated my Sabbaths. I decided to pour out<n id="3" /> my rage on them and fully vent my anger against them in the wilderness.

I have made your forehead harder than flint &#8211; like diamond!<n id="1" /> Do not fear them or be terrified of the looks they give you,<n id="2" /> for they are a rebellious house.&#8221;p>

Again, take more of them and throw them into the fire,<n id="1" /> and burn them up. From there a fire will spread to all the house of Israel.p>

The king will mourn and the prince will be clothed with shuddering; the hands of the people of the land will tremble. Based on their behavior I will deal with them, and by their standard of justice<n id="1" /> I will judge them. Then they will know that I am the <sc>Lordsc>!&#8221;p>

Therefore I will act with fury! My eye will not pity them nor will I spare<n id="1" /> them. When they have shouted in my ears, I will not listen to them.&#8221;p>
