<p class="bodytext">To this very day they observe their earlier practices. They do not worship<n id="1" /> the <sc>Lordsc>; they do not obey the rules, regulations, law, and commandments that the <sc>Lordsc> gave<n id="2" /> the descendants of Jacob, whom he renamed Israel.

These nations are worshiping the <sc>Lordsc> and at the same time serving their idols; their sons and grandsons do just as their fathers have done, to this very day.p>

Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon whom you now fear.<n id="1" /> Do not be afraid of him because I will be with you to save you and to rescue you from his power. I, the <sc>Lordsc>, affirm it!<n id="2" />

the wars you fear will catch up with you there in the land of Egypt. The starvation you are worried about will follow you there to<n id="1" /> Egypt. You will die there.<n id="2" />
