<p class="bodytext">Finally Jacob said<n id="1" /> to Laban, &#8220;Give me my wife, for my time of service is up.<n id="2" /> I want to have marital relations with her.&#8221;<n id="3" />

(Laban gave his female servant Zilpah to his daughter Leah to be her servant.)<n id="1" />p>

&#8220;It is not our custom here,&#8221;<n id="1" /> Laban replied, &#8220;to give the younger daughter in marriage<n id="2" /> before the firstborn.

(Laban gave his female servant Bilhah to his daughter Rachel to be her servant.)<n id="1" />

<p class="bodytext">But Laban said to him, &#8220;If I have found favor in your sight, please stay here,<n id="1" /> for I have learned by divination<n id="2" /> that the <sc>Lordsc> has blessed me on account of you.&#8221;

When Jacob saw the look on Laban&#8217;s face, he could tell his attitude toward him had changed.<n id="1" />p>

Laban called it Jegar Sahadutha,<n id="1" /> but Jacob called it Galeed.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;Here is this pile of stones and this pillar I have set up between me and you,&#8221; Laban said to Jacob.<n id="1" />

Jacob removed these lambs, but he made the rest of the flock face<n id="1" /> the streaked and completely dark-colored animals in Laban&#8217;s flock. So he made separate flocks for himself and did not mix them with Laban&#8217;s flocks.
