Bread made without yeast must be eaten<n id="1" /> for seven days;<n id="2" /> no bread made with yeast shall be seen<n id="3" /> among you, and you must have no yeast among you within any of your borders.p>

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;You must not bow down to their gods; you must not serve them or do according to their practices. Instead you must completely overthrow them and smash their standing stones<n id="1" /> to pieces.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">But the <sc>Lordsc> hardened Pharaoh&#8217;s heart, and he was not willing to release them.

But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go,<n id="1" /> not even under force.<n id="2" />

Yet Pharaoh&#8217;s heart became hard,<n id="1" /> and he did not listen to them, just as the <sc>Lordsc> had predicted.p>

And Pharaoh turned and went into his house. He did not pay any attention to this.<n id="1" />

But the <sc>Lordsc> hardened Pharaoh&#8217;s heart, and he did not release the Israelites.p>

You must leave nothing until morning, but you must burn with fire whatever remains of it until morning.

When<n id="1" /> they measured with an omer, the one who gathered much had nothing left over, and the one who gathered little lacked nothing; each one had gathered what he could eat.p>

<p class="bodytext">On the seventh day some of the people went out to gather it, but they found nothing.

And you must not go up by steps to my altar, so that your nakedness is not exposed.&#8217;<n id="1" />p>

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;You must not wrong<n id="1" /> a foreigner<n id="2" /> nor oppress him, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.p>

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;You must not offer<n id="1" /> the blood of my sacrifice with bread containing yeast; the fat of my festal sacrifice must not remain until morning.<n id="2" />

they must wash<n id="1" /> their hands and their feet so that they do not die. And this<n id="2" /> will be a perpetual ordinance for them and for their descendants<n id="3" /> throughout their generations.&#8221;<n id="4" />p>

<p class="bodytext">When the people heard this troubling word<n id="1" /> they mourned;<n id="2" /> no one put on his ornaments.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;You must not offer the blood of my sacrifice with yeast; the sacrifice from the feast of Passover must not remain until the following morning.<n id="1" />p>

but if the cloud was not lifted up, then they would not journey further until the day it was lifted up.<n id="1" />

But<n id="1" /> the midwives feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them; they let the boys live.<n id="2" />p>

<t /><n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">Moses answered again,<n id="2" /> &#8220;And if<n id="3" /> they do not believe me or pay attention to me,<n id="4" /> but say, &#8216;The <sc>Lordsc> has not appeared to you&#8217;?&#8221;

&#8220;If<n id="1" /> they do not believe you or pay attention to<n id="2" /> the former sign, then they may<n id="3" /> believe the latter sign.<n id="4" />
