But as for you, if you warn the wicked and he does not turn from his wicked deed and from his wicked lifestyle, he will die for his iniquity but you will have saved your own life.<n id="1" />p>

Your fame<n id="1" /> spread among the nations because of your beauty; your beauty was perfect because of the splendor which I bestowed on you, declares the sovereign <sc>Lordsc>.<n id="2" />p>

and follows my statutes and observes my regulations by carrying them out.<n id="1" /> That man<n id="2" /> is righteous; he will certainly live,<n id="3" /> declares the sovereign <sc>Lordsc>.p>

refrains from wrongdoing,<n id="1" /> does not engage in usury or charge interest, carries out my regulations and follows my statutes. He will not die for his father&#8217;s iniquity;<n id="2" /> he will surely live.

<p class="bodytext">Then I said, &#8220;O sovereign <sc>Lordsc>! They are saying of me, &#8216;Does he not simply speak in eloquent figures of speech?&#8217;&#8221;p>

<p class="poetry">He and his people with him,p> <p class="poetry">the most terrifying of the nations,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">will be brought there to destroy the land.p> <p class="poetry">They will draw their swords against Egypt,p> <p class="poetry">and fill the land with corpses.p>

When I say to the wicked, &#8216;O wicked man, you must certainly die,&#8217;<n id="1" /> and you do not warn<n id="2" /> the wicked about his behavior,<n id="3" /> the wicked man will die for his iniquity, but I will hold you accountable for his death.<n id="4" />

But if you warn the wicked man to change his behavior,<n id="1" /> and he refuses to change,<n id="2" /> he will die for his iniquity, but you have saved your own life.p>

When I say to the wicked, &#8220;You will certainly die,&#8221;<n id="1" /> and you do not warn him &#8211; you do not speak out to warn the wicked to turn from his wicked deed and wicked lifestyle so that he may live &#8211; that wicked person will die for his iniquity,<n id="2" /> but I will hold you accountable for his death.<n id="3" />

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;When a righteous person turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I set an obstacle<n id="1" /> before him, he will die. If you have not warned him, he will die for his sin. The righteous deeds he performed will not be considered, but I will hold you accountable for his death.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;The prince<n id="1" /> who is among them will raise his belongings<n id="2" /> onto his shoulder in darkness, and will go out. He<n id="3" /> will dig a hole in the wall to leave through. He will cover his face so that he cannot see the land with his eyes.
