<t /><p class="bodytext">The king settled into his palace,<n id="1" /> for the <sc>Lordsc> gave him relief<n id="2" /> from all his enemies on all sides.<n id="3" />

But now the <sc>Lordsc> my God has made me secure on all fronts; there is no adversary or dangerous threat.

<p class="poetry">Lend your aid<n id="1" /> and come,p> <p class="poetry">all you surrounding nations,p> <p class="poetry">and gather yourselves<n id="2" /> to that place.&#8221;p> <p class="poetry">Bring down, O <sc>Lordsc>, your warriors!<n id="3" />p>

So they got away from the homes of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram on every side, and Dathan and Abiram came out and stationed themselves<n id="1" /> in the entrances of their tents with their wives, their children, and their toddlers.

When you do go across the Jordan River<n id="1" /> and settle in the land he<n id="2" /> is granting you as an inheritance and you find relief from all the enemies who surround you, you will live in safety.<n id="3" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">A long time<n id="1" /> passed after the <sc>Lordsc> made Israel secure from all their enemies,<n id="2" /> and Joshua was very old.<n id="3" />

The Israelites did not remain true<n id="1" /> to the <sc>Lordsc> their God, who had delivered them from all the enemies who lived around them.

So the <sc>Lordsc> sent Jerub-Baal,<n id="1" /> Barak,<n id="2" /> Jephthah, and Samuel,<n id="3" /> and he delivered you from the hand of the enemies all around you, and you were able to live securely.p>

All Judah was happy about the oath, because they made the vow with their whole heart. They willingly sought the <sc>Lordsc> and he responded to them.<n id="1" /> He made them secure on every side.<n id="2" />p>

The <sc>Lordsc> delivered Hezekiah and the residents of Jerusalem from the power of King Sennacherib of Assyria and from all the other nations.<n id="1" /> He made them secure on every side.<n id="2" />

Have you<n id="1" /> not made a hedge<n id="2" /> around him and his household and all that he has on every side? You have blessed<n id="3" /> the work of his hands, and his livestock<n id="4" /> have increased<n id="5" /> in the land.

<p class="poetry">For I hear what so many are saying,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">the terrifying news that comes from every direction.<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">When they plot together against me,p> <p class="poetry">they figure out how they can take my life.p>

<p class="poetry">So he poured out his fierce anger on them,p> <p class="poetry">along with the devastation<n id="1" /> of war.p> <p class="poetry">Its flames encircled them, but they did not realize it;<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">it burned against them, but they did notice.<n id="3" />p>

<p class="poetry">What do I see?&#8221;<n id="1" /> says the <sc>Lordsc>.<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;The soldiers<n id="3" /> are terrified.p> <p class="poetry">They are retreating.p> <p class="poetry">They have been defeated.p> <p class="poetry">They are overcome with terror;<n id="4" />p> <p class="poetry">they desert quicklyp> <p class="poetry">without looking back.p>

<p class="poetry">Their tents and their flocks will be taken away.p> <p class="poetry">Their tent curtains, equipment, and camels will be carried off.p> <p class="poetry">People will shout<n id="1" /> to them,p> <p class="poetry">&#8216;Terror is all around you!&#8217;&#8221;<n id="2" />p>
