King Solomon then sent<n id="1" /> Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and he killed Adonijah.<n id="2" />p>

Obadiah<n id="1" /> said, &#8220;What sin have I committed that you are ready to hand your servant over to Ahab for execution?<n id="2" />

The king then gave the order to Benaiah son of Jehoiada who went and executed Shimei.<n id="1" />p> <p class="bodytext">So Solomon took firm control of the kingdom.<n id="2" />p>

All Israel buried him and mourned for him, just as the <sc>Lordsc> had predicted<n id="1" /> through his servant the prophet Ahijah.p>

Zimri destroyed Baasha&#8217;s entire family, just as the <sc>Lordsc> had predicted to Baasha<n id="1" /> through Jehu the prophet.

The jar of flour was never empty and the jug of oil never ran out, just as the <sc>Lordsc> had promised<n id="1" /> through Elijah.p>

All the prophets were prophesying the same, saying, &#8220;Attack Ramoth Gilead! You will succeed; the <sc>Lordsc> will hand it over to the king.&#8221;

After all,<n id="1" /> you picked them out of all the nations of the earth to be your special possession,<n id="2" /> just as you, O sovereign <sc>Lordsc>, announced through your servant Moses when you brought our ancestors out of Egypt.&#8221;p>

&#8220;The <sc>Lordsc> is worthy of praise because he has made Israel his people secure<n id="1" /> just as he promised! Not one of all the faithful promises he made through his servant Moses is left unfulfilled!<n id="2" />

The king refused to listen to the people, because the <sc>Lordsc> was instigating this turn of events<n id="1" /> so that he might bring to pass the prophetic announcement he had made<n id="2" /> through Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam son of Nebat.p>

When he became king, he executed Jeroboam&#8217;s entire family. He wiped out everyone who breathed,<n id="1" /> just as the <sc>Lordsc> had predicted<n id="2" /> through his servant Ahijah the Shilonite.

The prophet Jehu son of Hanani received from the <sc>Lordsc> the message predicting the downfall of Baasha and his family because of all the evil Baasha had done in the sight of the <sc>Lordsc>.<n id="1" /> His actions angered the <sc>Lordsc> (including the way he had destroyed Jeroboam&#8217;s dynasty), so that his family ended up like Jeroboam&#8217;s.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="bodytext">During Ahab&#8217;s reign,<n id="1" /> Hiel the Bethelite rebuilt Jericho.<n id="2" /> Abiram, his firstborn son, died when he laid the foundation;<n id="3" /> Segub, his youngest son, died when he erected its gates,<n id="4" /> just as the <sc>Lordsc> had warned<n id="5" /> through Joshua son of Nun.<n id="6" />p>

So the king of Israel assembled about four hundred prophets and asked them, &#8220;Should I attack Ramoth Gilead or not?&#8221;<n id="1" /> They said, &#8220;Attack! The sovereign one<n id="2" /> will hand it over to the king.&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">When he came before the king, the king asked him, &#8220;Micaiah, should we attack Ramoth Gilead or not?&#8221; He answered him, &#8220;Attack! You will succeed; the <sc>Lordsc> will hand it over to the king.&#8221;<n id="1" />

Asa took all the silver and gold that was left in the treasuries of the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s temple and of the royal palace and handed it to his servants. He then told them to deliver it<n id="1" /> to Ben Hadad son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, ruler in Damascus, along with this message:
