<n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">The Israelite foremen went and cried out to Pharaoh, &#8220;Why are you treating<n id="2" /> your servants this way?

When he went out<n id="1" /> the next day,<n id="2" /> there were<n id="3" /> two Hebrew men fighting. So he said to the one who was in the wrong,<n id="4" /> &#8220;Why are you attacking<n id="5" /> your fellow Hebrew?&#8221;<n id="6" />p>

He said<n id="1" /> to his daughters, &#8220;So where is he?<n id="2" /> Why in the world<n id="3" /> did you leave the man? Call him, so that he may eat<n id="4" /> a meal<n id="5" /> with us.&#8221;p>

The king of Egypt said to them, &#8220;Moses and Aaron, why do you cause the people to refrain from their work?<n id="1" /> Return to your labor!&#8221;

But the people were very thirsty<n id="1" /> there for water, and they murmured against Moses and said, &#8220;Why in the world<n id="2" /> did you bring us up out of Egypt &#8211; to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

<p class="bodytext">But Moses sought the favor<n id="1" /> of the <sc>Lordsc> his God and said, &#8220;O <sc>Lordsc>, why does your anger burn against your people, whom you have brought out from the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?

Why<n id="1" /> should the Egyptians say,<n id="2" /> &#8216;For evil<n id="3" /> he led them out to kill them in the mountains and to destroy<n id="4" /> them from the face of the earth&#8217;? Turn from your burning anger, and relent<n id="5" /> of this evil against your people.
