The <sc>Lordsc> told Gad, David&#8217;s prophet,<n id="1" />

<t /><n id="1" /><p class="poetry">This is a message about Babylon that God revealed to Isaiah son of Amoz:<n id="2" />p>

<p class="bodytext">When David got up the next morning, the <sc>Lordsc> had already spoken<n id="1" /> to Gad the prophet, David&#8217;s seer:

<p class="poetry">The godly<n id="1" /> will rejoice when they see vengeance carried out;p> <p class="poetry">they will bathe their feet in the blood of the wicked.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Here is the message about Judah and Jerusalem<n id="1" /> that was revealed to Isaiah son of Amoz.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">You have heard; now look at all the evidence!<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">Will you not admit that what I say is true?<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">From this point on I am announcing to you new eventsp> <p class="poetry">that are previously unrevealed and you do not know about.<n id="3" />p>

While I was watching, that horn began to wage war against the holy ones and was defeating<n id="1" /> them,

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;Then I kept on watching because of the arrogant words of the horn that was speaking. I was watching<n id="1" /> until the beast was killed and its body destroyed and thrown into<n id="2" /> the flaming fire.

You are to sanctify the breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the contribution,<n id="1" /> which were waved and lifted up as a contribution from the ram of consecration, from what belongs to Aaron and to his sons.

All these were the sons of Heman, the king&#8217;s prophet. God had promised him these sons in order to make him prestigious.<n id="1" /> God gave Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.p>

and Maaseiah son of Baruch, the son of Col-Hozeh, the son of Hazaiah, the son of Adaiah, the son of Joiarib, the son of Zechariah, from the descendants of Shelah.<n id="1" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Here is the message about Judah and Jerusalem<n id="1" /> that was revealed to Isaiah son of Amoz during the time when Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah reigned over Judah.<n id="2" />p>

&#8220;Take note, son of man, the house of Israel is saying, &#8216;The vision that he sees is for distant days; he is prophesying about the far future.&#8217;

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;You, O king, were watching as a great statue &#8211; one<n id="1" /> of impressive size and extraordinary brightness &#8211; was standing before you. Its appearance caused alarm.

You were watching as<n id="1" /> a stone was cut out,<n id="2" /> but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its iron and clay feet, breaking them in pieces.

Here are the visions of my mind<n id="1" /> while I was on my bed.p> <p class="poetry">While I was watching,p> <p class="poetry">there was a tree in the middle of the land.<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">It was enormously tall.<n id="3" />p>

<p class="poetry">While I was watching in my mind&#8217;s visions<n id="1" /> on my bed,p> <p class="poetry">a holy sentinel<n id="2" /> came down from heaven.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">In the first<n id="1" /> year of King Belshazzar of Babylon, Daniel had<n id="2" /> a dream filled with visions<n id="3" /> while he was lying on his bed. Then he wrote down the dream in summary fashion.<n id="4" />

Daniel explained:<n id="1" /> &#8220;I was watching in my vision during the night as<n id="2" /> the four winds of the sky<n id="3" /> were stirring up the great sea.<n id="4" />
