<p class="poetry">Wake up, you drunkards,<n id="1" /> and weep!p> <p class="poetry">Wail, all you wine drinkers,<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">because the sweet wine<n id="3" /> has been taken away<n id="4" /> from you.<n id="5" />p>

<t /><p class="poetry">Proclaim this among the nations:p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;Prepare for a holy war!p> <p class="poetry">Call out the warriors!p> <p class="poetry">Let all these fighting men approach and attack!<n id="1" />p>

<p class="poetry">Lend your aid<n id="1" /> and come,p> <p class="poetry">all you surrounding nations,p> <p class="poetry">and gather yourselves<n id="2" /> to that place.&#8221;p> <p class="poetry">Bring down, O <sc>Lordsc>, your warriors!<n id="3" />p>

<t /><p class="poetry">Listen to this, you elders;<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">pay attention,<n id="2" /> all inhabitants of the land.p> <p class="poetry">Has anything like this ever happened in your whole life<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">or in the lifetime<n id="4" /> of your ancestors?<n id="5" />p>

<p class="poetry">The vine has dried up;p> <p class="poetry">the fig tree languishes &#8211;p> <p class="poetry">the pomegranate, date, and apple<n id="1" /> as well.p> <p class="poetry">In fact,<n id="2" /> all the trees of the field have dried up.p> <p class="poetry">Indeed, the joy of the people<n id="3" /> has dried up!p>

<p class="poetry">Announce a holy fast;<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">proclaim a sacred assembly.p> <p class="poetry">Gather the elders and<n id="2" /> all the inhabitants of the landp> <p class="poetry">to the temple of the <sc>Lordsc> your God,p> <p class="poetry">and cry out to the <sc>Lordsc>.p>

<p class="poetry">To you, O <sc>Lordsc>, I call out for help,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">for fire<n id="2" /> has burned up<n id="3" /> the grassy pastures,<n id="4" />p> <p class="poetry">flames have razed<n id="5" /> all the trees in the fields.p>

<t /><p class="poetry">Blow the trumpet<n id="1" /> in Zion;p> <p class="poetry">sound the alarm signal on my holy mountain!p> <p class="poetry">Let all the inhabitants of the land shake with fear,p> <p class="poetry">for the day of the <sc>Lordsc> is about to come.p> <p class="poetry">Indeed,<n id="2" /> it is near!<n id="3" />p>

<p class="poetry">Let the nations be roused and let them go upp> <p class="poetry">to the valley of Jehoshaphat,p> <p class="poetry">for there I will sit in judgment on all the surrounding nations.p>

<t /><p class="poetry"><v id="(3:1)" /><n id="1" /> After all of this<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">I will pour out my Spirit<n id="3" /> on all kinds of people.<n id="4" />p> <p class="poetry">Your sons and daughters will prophesy.p> <p class="poetry">Your elderly will have revelatory dreams;<n id="5" />p> <p class="poetry">your young men will see prophetic visions.p>

<p class="poetry">It will so happen thatp> <p class="poetry">everyone who calls on the name of the <sc>Lordsc> will be delivered.<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">For on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem<n id="2" /> there will be those who survive,<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">just as the <sc>Lordsc> has promised;p> <p class="poetry">the remnant<n id="4" /> will be those whom the <sc>Lordsc> will call.<n id="5" />p>

<p class="poetry">Then I will gather all the nations,p> <p class="poetry">and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat.<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">I will enter into judgment<n id="2" /> against them therep> <p class="poetry">concerning my people Israel who are my inheritance,<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">whom they scattered among the nations.p> <p class="poetry">They partitioned my land,p>
