The main hall in front of the inner sanctuary was 60 feet long.<n id="1" />

The doorposts of the outer sanctuary were square. In front of the sanctuary one doorpost looked just like the other.

In the same way he made doorposts of olive wood for the entrance to the main hall, only with four-sided pillars.<n id="1" />

from the ground to the area above the entrance, cherubim and decorative palm trees were carved on the wall of the outer sanctuary.

<p class="bodytext">Then I went to the house of Shemaiah son of Delaiah, the son of Mehetabel. He set up the pillars in front of the temple, one on the right side and the other on the left.<n id="1" /> He named the one on the right Jachin,<n id="2" /> and the one on the left Boaz.<n id="3" />p>

<p class="bodytext">But I replied, &#8220;Should a man like me run away? Would someone like me flee to the temple in order to save his life?<n id="1" /> I will not go!&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">In the year of King Uzziah&#8217;s death,<n id="1" /> I saw the sovereign master<n id="2" /> seated on a high, elevated throne. The hem of his robe filled the temple.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then he brought me to the outer sanctuary, and measured the jambs; the jambs were 10½ feet<n id="1" /> wide on each side.

Then he measured its length as 35 feet,<n id="1" /> and its width as 35 feet,<n id="2" /> before the outer sanctuary. He said to me, &#8220;This is the most holy place.&#8221;p>

On the doors of the outer sanctuary were carved cherubim and palm trees, like those carved on the walls, and there was a canopy<n id="1" /> of wood on the front of the outside porch.

For the chambers on the outer court were 87½ feet<n id="1" /> long, while those facing the temple were 175 feet<n id="2" /> long.

He set up the pillars on the porch in front of the main hall. He erected one pillar on the right<n id="1" /> side and called it Jakin;<n id="2" /> he erected the other pillar on the left<n id="3" /> side and called it Boaz.<n id="4" />

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;The <sc>Lordsc> who rules over all also says, &#8216;Gather strength, you who are listening to these words today from the mouths of the prophets who were there at the founding of the house of the <sc>Lordsc> who rules over all,<n id="1" /> so that the temple might be built.
