He said, &#8220;Do you know why I have come to you?<n id="1" /> Now I am about to return to engage in battle with the prince of Persia. When I go, the prince of Greece is coming.

Then God made the overseer of the court officials sympathetic to Daniel.<n id="1" />

<p class="bodytext">When the time appointed by the king arrived,<n id="1" /> the overseer of the court officials brought them into Nebuchadnezzar&#8217;s presence.

It also acted arrogantly against the Prince of the army,<n id="1" /> from whom<n id="2" /> the daily sacrifice was removed and whose sanctuary<n id="3" /> was thrown down.

But the overseer of the court officials renamed them. He gave<n id="1" /> Daniel the name Belteshazzar, Hananiah he named Shadrach, Mishael he named Meshach, and Azariah he named Abednego.<n id="2" />p>

Daniel then spoke to the warden<n id="1" /> whom the overseer of the court officials had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:

By his treachery<n id="1" /> he will succeed through deceit.<n id="2" /> He will have an arrogant attitude,<n id="3" /> and he will destroy many who are unaware of his schemes.<n id="4" /> He will rise up against the Prince of princes, yet he will be broken apart &#8211; but not by human agency.<n id="5" />

But he<n id="1" /> responded to Daniel, &#8220;I fear my master the king. He is the one who has decided<n id="2" /> your food and drink. What would happen if he saw that you looked malnourished in comparison to the other young men your age?<n id="3" /> If that happened,<n id="4" /> you would endanger my life<n id="5" /> with the king!&#8221;
