<p class="poetry">Do you count the months they must fulfill,p> <p class="poetry">and do you know the time they give birth?<n id="1" />p>

<p class="poetry">And<n id="1" /> you will know<n id="2" /> that your home<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">will be secure,<n id="4" />p> <p class="poetry">and when you inspect<n id="5" /> your domains,p> <p class="poetry">you will not be missing<n id="6" /> anything.p>

<p class="poetry">You will also know that your children<n id="1" /> will be numerous,p> <p class="poetry">and your descendants<n id="2" /> like the grass of the earth.p>

You will be profaned within yourself<n id="1" /> in the sight of the nations; then you will know that I am the <sc>Lordsc>.&#8217;&#8221;p>

<p class="poetry">I will commit myself to you in faithfulness;p> <p class="poetry">then<n id="1" /> you will acknowledge<n id="2" /> the <sc>Lordsc>.&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

Be keenly aware that just as a parent disciplines his child,<n id="1" /> the <sc>Lordsc> your God disciplines you.

I will establish my covenant with you, and then you will know that I am the <sc>Lordsc>.

<p class="poetry">I will lay waste your cities;p> <p class="poetry">and you will become desolate.p> <p class="poetry">Then you will know that I am the <sc>Lordsc>!p>

Today realize and carefully consider that the <sc>Lordsc> is God in heaven above and on earth below &#8211; there is no other!

So realize that the <sc>Lordsc> your God is the true God,<n id="1" /> the faithful God who keeps covenant faithfully<n id="2" /> with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations,

Understand, therefore, that it is not because of your righteousness that the <sc>Lordsc> your God is about to give you this good land as a possession, for you are a stubborn<n id="1" /> people!p>

When he gets ready to go to sleep,<n id="1" /> take careful notice of the place where he lies down. Then go, uncover his legs,<n id="2" /> and lie down<n id="3" /> beside him.<n id="4" /> He will tell<n id="5" /> you what you should do.&#8221;

But now<n id="1" /> don&#8217;t treat him as if he were innocent. You are a wise man and you know how to handle him;<n id="2" /> make sure he has a bloody death.&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

<p class="poetry">You will drink the milk of nations;p> <p class="poetry">you will nurse at the breasts of kings.<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">Then you will recognize that I, the <sc>Lordsc>, am your deliverer,p> <p class="poetry">your protector,<n id="2" /> the powerful ruler of Jacob.<n id="3" />p>

Then you will know that I, the <sc>Lordsc>, have heard all the insults you spoke against the mountains of Israel, saying, &#8220;They are desolate, they have been given to us for food.&#8221;

&#8220;The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundations of this temple,<n id="1" /> and his hands will complete it.&#8221; Then you will know that the <sc>Lordsc> who rules over all has sent me to you.

Understand today that the <sc>Lordsc> your God who goes before you is a devouring fire; he will defeat and subdue them before you. You will dispossess and destroy them quickly just as he<n id="1" /> has told you.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now a prophet visited King Ahab of Israel and said, &#8220;This is what the <sc>Lordsc> says, &#8216;Do you see this huge army?<n id="1" /> Look, I am going to hand it over to you this very day. Then you will know that I am the <sc>Lordsc>.&#8217;&#8221;

<p class="poetry">Kings will be your children&#8217;s<n id="1" /> guardians;p> <p class="poetry">their princesses will nurse your children.<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">With their faces to the ground they will bow down to youp> <p class="poetry">and they will lick the dirt on<n id="3" /> your feet.p> <p class="poetry">Then you will recognize that I am the <sc>Lordsc>;p> <p class="poetry">those who wait patiently for me are not put to shame.p>

take note, I have stretched out my hand against you, and I will hand you over as plunder<n id="1" /> to the nations. I will cut you off from the peoples and make you perish from the lands. I will destroy you; then you will know that I am the <sc>Lordsc>.&#8217;&#8221;p>
