<p class="bodytext">&#8220;Three times<n id="1" /> in the year you must make a pilgrim feast<n id="2" /> to me.

Let them make<n id="1" /> for me a sanctuary,<n id="2" /> so that I may live among them.

&#8220;Set apart<n id="1" /> to me every firstborn male &#8211; the first offspring of every womb<n id="2" /> among the Israelites, whether human or animal; it is mine.&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

And now, if you will diligently listen to me<n id="1" /> and keep<n id="2" /> my covenant, then you will be my<n id="3" /> special possession<n id="4" /> out of all the nations, for all the earth is mine,

<p class="bodytext">You are to tell your son<n id="1" /> on that day,<n id="2" /> &#8216;It is<n id="3" /> because of what<n id="4" /> the <sc>Lordsc> did for me when I came out of Egypt.&#8217;

<p class="poetry">The <sc>Lordsc><n id="1" /> is my strength and my song,<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">and he has become my salvation.p> <p class="poetry">This is my God, and I will praise him,<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">my father&#8217;s God, and I will exalt him.p>

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;Do not hold back offerings from your granaries or your vats.<n id="1" /> You must give me the firstborn of your sons.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;You are to anoint Aaron and his sons and<n id="1" /> sanctify them, so that they may minister as my priests.

And you are to tell the Israelites: &#8216;This is to be my sacred anointing oil throughout your generations.

So now, leave me alone<n id="1" /> so that my anger can burn against them and I can destroy them, and I will make from you a great nation.&#8221;p>

So I said to them, &#8216;Whoever has gold, break it off.&#8217; So they gave it<n id="1" /> to me, and I threw it into the fire, and this calf came out.&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

The <sc>Lordsc> said to Moses, &#8220;Whoever has sinned against me &#8211; that person I will wipe out of my book.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;Every firstborn of the womb<n id="1" /> belongs to me, even every firstborn<n id="2" /> of your cattle that is a male,<n id="3" /> whether ox or sheep.

Then you are to clothe Aaron with the holy garments and anoint him and sanctify him so that he may minister as my priest.

Pharaoh&#8217;s daughter said to her, &#8220;Take this child<n id="1" /> and nurse him for me, and I will pay your<n id="2" /> wages.&#8221; So the woman took the child and nursed him.p>

<t /><n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">Moses answered again,<n id="2" /> &#8220;And if<n id="3" /> they do not believe me or pay attention to me,<n id="4" /> but say, &#8216;The <sc>Lordsc> has not appeared to you&#8217;?&#8221;

But Zipporah took a flint knife, cut off the foreskin of her son and touched it to Moses&#8217; feet,<n id="1" /> and said, &#8220;Surely you are a bridegroom of blood<n id="2" /> to me.&#8221;

<t /><n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">Afterward Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, &#8220;Thus says the <sc>Lordsc>,<n id="2" /> the God of Israel, &#8216;Release<n id="3" /> my people so that they may hold a pilgrim feast<n id="4" /> to me in the desert.&#8217;&#8221;

I will take you to myself for a people, and I will be your God.<n id="1" /> Then you will know that I am the <sc>Lordsc> your God, who brought you out from your enslavement to<n id="2" /> the Egyptians.

and you will be to me<n id="1" /> a kingdom of priests<n id="2" /> and a holy nation.&#8217;<n id="3" /> These are the words that you will speak to the Israelites.&#8221;p>
