For they were in three stories and had no pillars like the pillars of the courts; therefore the upper chambers ¹  were set back from the ground more than the lower and upper ones.

I will give it to foreigners as loot, to the world’s wicked ones as plunder, and they will desecrate it.

Tell the ones who coat it with whitewash that it will fall. When there is a deluge of rain, hailstones ¹  will fall and a violent wind will break out. ² 

For this reason no watered trees will grow so tall; their tops will not reach into the clouds, nor will the well-watered ones grow that high. ¹  For all of them have been appointed to die in the lower parts of the earth; ²  they will be among mere mortals, ³  with those who descend to the pit.

“Son of man, the ones living in these ruins in the land of Israel are saying, ‘Abraham was only one man, yet he possessed the land, but we are many; surely the land has been given to us for a possession.’ ¹ 

They will enter my sanctuary, and approach my table to minister to me; they will keep my charge.

By the swords of the mighty warriors I will cause your hordes to fall – all of them are the most terrifying among the nations. They will devastate the pride of Egypt, and all its hordes will be destroyed.

(The cherubim appeared to have the form ¹  of human hands under their wings.)

The bravest of the warriors will speak to him from the midst of Sheol along with his allies, saying: ‘The uncircumcised have come down; they lie still, killed by the sword.’

You have not strengthened the weak, healed the sick, bandaged the injured, brought back the strays, or sought the lost, but with force and harshness ¹  you have ruled over them.

(The cherubim were standing on the south side ¹  of the temple when the man went in, and a cloud filled the inner court.)

The cherubim rose up; these were the living beings ¹  I saw at the Kebar River.

Then the glory of the Lord moved away from the threshold of the temple and stopped above the cherubim.

and say: “‘What a lioness was your mother among the lions! She lay among young lions; ¹  she reared her cubs.

She lusted after the Assyrians – governors and officials, warriors in full armor, horsemen riding on horses, all of them desirable young men.

You eat the fat, you clothe yourselves with the wool, you slaughter the choice animals, but you do not feed the sheep!

Because you push with your side and your shoulder, and thrust your horns at all the weak sheep until you scatter them abroad, ¹ 

It was made with cherubim and decorative palm trees, with a palm tree between each cherub. Each cherub had two faces:

from the ground to the area above the entrance, cherubim and decorative palm trees were carved on the wall of the outer sanctuary.

The doorposts of the outer sanctuary were square. In front of the sanctuary one doorpost looked just like the other.
