When the disciples went to the other side, they forgot to take bread.

Now when Jesus saw a large crowd ¹  around him, he gave orders to go to the other side of the lake. ² 

Immediately Jesus ¹  made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, while he dispersed the crowds.

After getting into a boat he crossed to the other side and came to his own town. ¹ 

When he came to the other side, to the region of the Gadarenes, ¹  two demon-possessed men coming from the tombs met him. They were extremely violent, so that no one was able to pass by that way.

And large crowds followed him from Galilee, the Decapolis, ¹  Jerusalem, ²  Judea, and beyond the Jordan River. ³ 

Whoever is not with me is against me, ¹  and whoever does not gather with me scatters. ² 

On that day after Jesus went out of the house, he sat by the lake.

After they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret. ¹ 

Now when ¹  Jesus finished these sayings, he left Galilee and went to the region of Judea beyond the Jordan River. ² 

When Joseph awoke from sleep he did what the angel of the Lord ¹  told him. He took his wife,

“Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the way by the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles –

And as he sowed, some seeds ¹  fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured them.

So he said, “Come.” Peter got out of the boat, walked on the water, and came toward Jesus.

As Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, ¹  he took the twelve ²  aside privately and said to them on the way,

Then two outlaws were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left.

But I say to you, do not resist the evildoer. ¹  But whoever strikes you on the ²  right cheek, turn the other to him as well.

Two ¹  blind men were sitting by the road. When they heard that Jesus was passing by, they shouted, ²  “Have mercy ³  on us, Lord, Son of David!” ⁴ 

As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax booth. ¹  “Follow me,” he said to him. And he got up and followed him.

When anyone hears the word about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one ¹  comes and snatches what was sown in his heart; ²  this is the seed sown along the path.
