So you are no longer a slave but a son, and if you are ¹  a son, then you are also an heir through God. ² 

But what does the scripture say? “Throw out the slave woman and her son, for the son of the slave woman will not share the inheritance with the son” ¹  of the free woman.

But one, the son by the slave woman, was born by natural descent, ¹  while the other, the son by the free woman, was born through the promise.

But when the appropriate time ¹  had come, God sent out his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

And because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, who calls ¹  “Abba! ²  Father!”

to reveal his Son in ¹  me so that I could preach him ²  among the Gentiles, I did not go to ask advice from ³  any human being, ⁴ 

I have been crucified with Christ, ¹  and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So ²  the life I now live in the body, ³  I live because of the faithfulness of the Son of God, ⁴  who loved me and gave himself for me.

But just as at that time the one born by natural descent ¹  persecuted the one born according to the Spirit, ²  so it is now.

Now I mean that the heir, as long as he is a minor, ¹  is no different from a slave, though he is the owner ²  of everything.
