Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, &#8220;Father, <b><i>into your hands I commit my spirit!i>b>&#8221;<n id="1" /> And after he said this he breathed his last.p>

and when they did not find his body, they came back and said they had seen a vision of angels,<n id="1" /> who said he was alive.

<p class="bodytext">He<n id="1" /> said also to the man<n id="2" /> who had invited him, &#8220;When you host a dinner or a banquet,<n id="3" /> don&#8217;t invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors so you can be invited by them in return and get repaid.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> there was a man in Jerusalem<n id="2" /> named Simeon who was righteous<n id="3" /> and devout, looking for the restoration<n id="4" /> of Israel, and the Holy Spirit<n id="5" /> was upon him.

But the father said to his slaves,<n id="1" /> &#8216;Hurry! Bring the best robe,<n id="2" /> and put it on him! Put a ring on his finger<n id="3" /> and sandals<n id="4" /> on his feet!

Then<n id="1" /> shouldn&#8217;t<n id="2" /> this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan<n id="3" /> bound for eighteen long<n id="4" /> years, be released from this imprisonment<n id="5" /> on the Sabbath day?&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> one Sabbath when Jesus went to dine<n id="2" /> at the house of a leader<n id="3" /> of the Pharisees,<n id="4" /> they were watching<n id="5" /> him closely.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> when Jesus<n id="2" /> noticed how the guests<n id="3" /> chose the places of honor,<n id="4" /> he told them a parable. He said to them,

But his citizens<n id="1" /> hated<n id="2" /> him and sent a delegation after him, saying, &#8216;We do not want this man<n id="3" /> to be king<n id="4" /> over us!&#8217;

And if a peace-loving person<n id="1" /> is there, your peace will remain on him, but if not, it will return to you.<n id="2" />

As<n id="1" /> he was praying,<n id="2" /> the appearance of his face was transformed,<n id="3" /> and his clothes became very bright, a brilliant white.<n id="4" />

&#8220;A sower went out to sow<n id="1" /> his seed.<n id="2" /> And as he sowed, some fell along the path and was trampled on, and the wild birds<n id="3" /> devoured it.

<p class="bodytext">As<n id="1" /> he said these things, a woman in the crowd spoke out<n id="2" /> to him, &#8220;Blessed is the womb<n id="3" /> that bore you and the breasts at which you nursed!&#8221;<n id="4" />

Look at my hands and my feet; it&#8217;s me!<n id="1" /> Touch me and see; a ghost<n id="2" /> does not have flesh and bones like you see I have.&#8221;

The man<n id="1" /> replied, &#8216;A hundred measures<n id="2" /> of olive oil.&#8217; The manager<n id="3" /> said to him, &#8216;Take your bill, sit down quickly, and write fifty.&#8217;<n id="4" />

For I was afraid of you, because you are a severe<n id="1" /> man. You withdraw<n id="2" /> what you did not deposit<n id="3" /> and reap what you did not sow.&#8217;

Otherwise,<n id="1" /> when he has laid<n id="2" /> a foundation and is not able to finish the tower,<n id="3" /> all who see it<n id="4" /> will begin to make fun of<n id="5" /> him.

<t /><p class="bodytext">While he was still speaking, suddenly a crowd appeared,<n id="1" /> and the man named Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. He walked up<n id="2" /> to Jesus to kiss him.<n id="3" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">There was also a prophetess, Anna the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old,<n id="1" /> having been married to her husband for seven years until his death.

But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tiny stroke of a letter<n id="1" /> in the law to become void.<n id="2" />p>
