Joab son of Zeruiah was commanding general of ¹  the army; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was secretary;

For what is his interest ¹  in his home after his death, ²  when the number of his months has been broken off? ³ 

Who can adequately recount the Lord’s mighty acts, or relate all his praiseworthy deeds? ¹ 

May they be like the grass on the rooftops which withers before one can even pull it up, ¹ 

It lasted until the ninth day of the fourth month of Zedekiah’s eleventh year. ¹  On that day they broke through the city walls.

The food you eat will be eight ounces ¹  a day by weight; you must eat it at fixed ²  times.

for the daughters of Manasseh were assigned land among his sons. The land of Gilead belonged to the rest of the descendants of Manasseh.

Ehud made himself a sword – it had two edges and was eighteen inches long. ¹  He strapped it under his coat on his right thigh.

The three sons of Zeruiah were there – Joab, Abishai, and Asahel. (Now Asahel was as quick on his feet as one of the gazelles in the field.)
