<p class="poetry">No weapon forged to be used against you will succeed;p> <p class="poetry">you will refute everyone who tries to accuse you.<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">This is what the <sc>Lordsc> will do for his servants &#8211;p> <p class="poetry">I will vindicate them,&#8221;<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">says the <sc>Lordsc>.p>

<p class="poetry">&#8220;I thought to myself,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">&#8216;Oh what a joy it would be for me to treat you like a son!<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">What a joy it would be for me to give<n id="3" /> you a pleasant land,p> <p class="poetry">the most beautiful piece of property there is in all the world!&#8217;<n id="4" />p> <p class="poetry">I thought you would call me, &#8216;Father&#8217;<n id="5" />p> <p class="poetry">and would never cease being loyal to me.<n id="6" />p>

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;I, the <sc>Lordsc>, also have something to say concerning<n id="1" /> the wicked nations who surround my land<n id="2" /> and have attacked and plundered<n id="3" /> the land that I gave to my people as a permanent possession.<n id="4" /> I say: &#8216;I will uproot the people of those nations from their lands and I will free the people of Judah who have been taken there.<n id="5" />

<p class="poetry">You will lose your hold on the land<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">which I gave to you as a permanent possession.p> <p class="poetry">I will make you serve your enemies in a land that you know nothing about.p> <p class="poetry">For you have made my anger burn like a fire that will never be put out.&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it was desolate, so will I deal with you &#8211; you will be desolate, Mount Seir, and all of Edom &#8211; all of it! Then they will know that I am the <sc>Lordsc>.&#8217;&#8221;p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;When you allot the land as an inheritance, you will offer an allotment<n id="1" /> to the <sc>Lordsc>, a holy portion from the land; the length will be eight and a quarter miles<n id="2" /> and the width three and one-third miles.<n id="3" /> This entire area will be holy.<n id="4" />

<p class="poetry">Let the priests, those who serve the <sc>Lordsc>, weepp> <p class="poetry">from the vestibule all the way back to the altar.<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">Let them say, &#8220;Have pity, O <sc>Lordsc>, on your people;p> <p class="poetry">please do not turn over your inheritance to be mocked,p> <p class="poetry">to become a proverb<n id="2" /> among the nations.p> <p class="poetry">Why should it be said<n id="3" /> among the peoples,p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;Where is their God?&#8221;p>

<p class="poetry">Then I will gather all the nations,p> <p class="poetry">and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat.<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">I will enter into judgment<n id="2" /> against them therep> <p class="poetry">concerning my people Israel who are my inheritance,<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">whom they scattered among the nations.p> <p class="poetry">They partitioned my land,p>

So let my lord the king now listen to the words of his servant. If the <sc>Lordsc> has incited you against me, may he take delight in<n id="1" /> an offering. But if men have instigated this,<n id="2" /> may they be cursed before the <sc>Lordsc>! For they have driven me away this day from being united with the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s inheritance, saying, &#8216;Go on, serve other gods!&#8217;

<p class="bodytext">When all Israel saw that the king refused to listen to them, the people answered the king, &#8220;We have no portion in David, no share in the son of Jesse!<n id="1" /> Return to your homes, O Israel!<n id="2" /> Now, look after your own dynasty, O David!&#8221;<n id="3" /> So Israel returned to their homes.<n id="4" />

<p class="bodytext">When all Israel saw that the king refused to listen to them, the people answered the king, &#8220;We have no portion in David &#8211; no share in the son of Jesse!<n id="1" /> Return to your homes, O Israel!<n id="2" /> Now, look after your own dynasty, O David!&#8221;<n id="3" /> So all Israel returned to their homes.<n id="4" />
