When evening arrived, his disciples came to him saying, “This is an isolated place ¹  and the hour is already late. Send the crowds away so that they can go into the villages and buy food for themselves.”

Then the king said to his attendants, ‘Tie him up hand and foot and throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth!’

“I baptize you with water, for repentance, but the one coming after me is more powerful than I am – I am not worthy ¹  to carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. ² 

After they had gone, an ¹  angel of the Lord ²  appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother and flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you, for Herod ³  is going to look for the child to kill him.”

and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written, ‘He will command his angels concerning you’ ¹  and ‘with their hands they will lift you up, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’” ² 

From that time on ¹  Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem ²  and suffer ³  many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests, and experts in the law, ⁴  and be killed, and on the third day be raised.

When ¹  Pilate saw that he could do nothing, but that instead a riot was starting, he took some water, washed his hands before the crowd and said, “I am innocent of this man’s blood. You take care of it yourselves!” ² 

As ¹  he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, his disciples came to him privately and said, “Tell us, when will these things ²  happen? And what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

Jesus ¹  said to them, “I tell you the truth: ²  In the age when all things are renewed, ³  when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging ⁴  the twelve tribes of Israel.

But while everyone was sleeping, an enemy came and sowed weeds ¹  among the wheat and went away.

Then ¹  he began to teach ²  them by saying:

And he stood up and went home. ¹ 

The ¹  disciples said to him, “If this is the case of a husband with a wife, it is better not to marry!”

Then John’s ¹  disciples came and took the body and buried it and went and told Jesus.

So also my heavenly Father will do to you, if each of you does not forgive your ¹  brother ²  from your heart.”

Blessed is that slave whom the master finds at work ¹  when he comes.

But they went out and spread the news about him throughout that entire region. ¹ 

The boy answered, ¹  ‘I will not.’ But later he had a change of heart ²  and went.

But if ¹  that evil slave should say to himself, ²  ‘My master is staying away a long time,’

But I say to you that anyone who is angry with a brother ¹  will be subjected to judgment. And whoever insults ²  a brother will be brought before ³  the council, ⁴  and whoever says ‘Fool’ ⁵  will be sent ⁶  to fiery hell. ⁷
