And on the basis of faith in Jesus’ ¹  name, ²  his very name has made this man – whom you see and know – strong. The ³  faith that is through Jesus ⁴  has given him this complete health in the presence ⁵  of you all.

But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled ¹  your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back for yourself part of the proceeds from the sale of ²  the land?

Therefore I sent for you at once, and you were kind enough to come. ¹  So now we are all here in the presence of God ²  to listen ³  to everything the Lord has commanded you to say to us.” ⁴ 

After she and her household were baptized, she urged us, ¹  “If ²  you consider me to be a believer in the Lord, ³  come and stay in my house.” And she persuaded ⁴  us.

But some itinerant ¹  Jewish exorcists tried to invoke the name ²  of the Lord Jesus over those who were possessed by ³  evil spirits, saying, “I sternly warn ⁴  you by Jesus whom Paul preaches.”

Watch out for ¹  yourselves and for all the flock of which ²  the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, ³  to shepherd the church of God ⁴  that he obtained ⁵  with the blood of his own Son. ⁶ 

The crowd ¹  was listening to him until he said this. ²  Then ³  they raised their voices and shouted, ⁴  “Away with this man ⁵  from the earth! For he should not be allowed to live!” ⁶ 

While Paul ¹  was discussing ²  righteousness, self-control, ³  and the coming judgment, Felix ⁴  became ⁵  frightened and said, “Go away for now, and when I have an opportunity, ⁶  I will send for you.”

For the king knows about these things, and I am speaking freely ¹  to him, ²  because I cannot believe ³  that any of these things has escaped his notice, ⁴  for this was not done in a corner. ⁵ 

When the local people ¹  saw the creature hanging from Paul’s ²  hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer! Although he has escaped from the sea, Justice herself ³  has not allowed him to live!” ⁴ 

After ¹  he had said this, while they were watching, he was lifted up and a cloud hid him from their sight.

Then ¹  they cast lots for them, and the one chosen was Matthias; ²  so he was counted with the eleven apostles. ³ 

And tongues spreading out like a fire ¹  appeared to them and came to rest on each one of them.

Therefore my heart was glad and my tongue rejoiced; my body ¹  also will live in hope,

because you will not leave my soul in Hades, ¹  nor permit your Holy One to experience ²  decay.

and they began selling ¹  their property ²  and possessions and distributing the proceeds ³  to everyone, as anyone had need.

But many of those who had listened to ¹  the message ²  believed, and the number of the men ³  came to about five thousand.

Peter said to her, “Tell me, were the two of you ¹  paid this amount ²  for the land?” Sapphira ³  said, “Yes, that much.”

All ¹  who were sitting in the council ²  looked intently at Stephen ³  and saw his face was like the face of an angel. ⁴ 

Then a famine occurred throughout ¹  Egypt and Canaan, causing ²  great suffering, and our ³  ancestors ⁴  could not find food.
