<p class="bodytext">Then Moses cried out to the <sc>Lordsc>, &#8220;What will I do with<n id="1" /> this people? &#8211; a little more<n id="2" /> and they will stone me!&#8221;<n id="3" />

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;Honor<n id="1" /> your father and your mother, that you may live a long time<n id="2" /> in the land<n id="3" /> the <sc>Lordsc> your God is giving to you.p>

When Pharaoh heard<n id="1" /> about this event,<n id="2" /> he sought to kill Moses. So Moses fled<n id="3" /> from Pharaoh and settled in the land of Midian,<n id="4" /> and he settled<n id="5" /> by a certain well.<n id="6" />p>

and I have promised<n id="1" /> that I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites,<n id="2" /> to a land flowing with milk and honey.&#8221;&#8217;p>

<t /><n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">Afterward Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, &#8220;Thus says the <sc>Lordsc>,<n id="2" /> the God of Israel, &#8216;Release<n id="3" /> my people so that they may hold a pilgrim feast<n id="4" /> to me in the desert.&#8217;&#8221;

When<n id="1" /> Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh, they did so, just as the <sc>Lordsc> had commanded them &#8211; Aaron threw<n id="2" /> down his staff before Pharaoh and his servants and it became a snake.<n id="3" />

Go to Pharaoh in the morning when<n id="1" /> he goes out to the water. Position yourself<n id="2" /> to meet him by the edge of the Nile,<n id="3" /> and take<n id="4" /> in your hand the staff<n id="5" /> that was turned into a snake.

then the hand of the <sc>Lordsc> will surely bring<n id="1" /> a very terrible plague<n id="2" /> on your livestock in the field, on the horses, the donkeys, the camels,<n id="3" /> the herds, and the flocks.

If she does not please<n id="1" /> her master, who has designated her<n id="2" /> for himself, then he must let her be redeemed.<n id="3" /> He has no right<n id="4" /> to sell her to a foreign nation, because he has dealt deceitfully<n id="5" /> with her.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;If a man gives his neighbor money or articles<n id="1" /> for safekeeping,<n id="2" /> and it is stolen from the man&#8217;s house, if the thief is caught,<n id="3" /> he must repay double.

The first of the firstfruits of your soil you must bring to the house of the <sc>Lordsc> your God.p> <p class="bodytext">&#8220;You must not cook a young goat in its mother&#8217;s milk.<n id="1" />p>

<t /><n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;You are to make a lampstand<n id="2" /> of pure gold. The lampstand is to be made of hammered metal; its base and its shaft, its cups,<n id="3" /> its buds, and its blossoms are to be from the same piece.<n id="4" />

&#8220;Tell the Israelites, &#8216;Surely you must keep my Sabbaths,<n id="1" /> for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the <sc>Lordsc> who sanctifies you.<n id="2" />

It is a sign between me and the Israelites forever; for in six days<n id="1" /> the <sc>Lordsc> made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.&#8217;&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

and with him was Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, an artisan, a designer, and an embroiderer in blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine linen.p>

<p class="bodytext">Then his sister said to Pharaoh&#8217;s daughter, &#8220;Shall I go and get<n id="1" /> a nursing woman<n id="2" /> for you from the Hebrews, so that she may nurse<n id="3" /> the child for you?&#8221;

Then Moses took<n id="1" /> his wife and sons<n id="2" /> and put them on a donkey and headed back<n id="3" /> to the land of Egypt, and Moses took the staff of God in his hand.

<p class="bodytext">Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a hand-drum in her hand, and all the women went out after her with hand-drums and with dances.<n id="1" />

<p class="bodytext">Now the Israelites ate manna forty years, until they came to a land that was inhabited; they ate manna until they came to the border of the land of Canaan.

<t /><n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">But to Moses the <sc>Lordsc><n id="2" /> said, &#8220;Come up<n id="3" /> to the <sc>Lordsc>, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and worship from a distance.<n id="4" />
