As they came into the house and saw the child with Mary his mother, they bowed down<n id="1" /> and worshiped him. They opened their treasure boxes and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense,<n id="2" /> and myrrh.<n id="3" />

Going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in a boat<n id="1" /> with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. Then<n id="2" /> he called them.

The people<n id="1" /> of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented when Jonah preached to them<n id="2" /> &#8211; and now,<n id="3" /> something greater than Jonah is here!

The queen of the South<n id="1" /> will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon &#8211; and now,<n id="2" /> something greater than Solomon is here!p>

For the Son of Man will come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then <i>he will reward each person according to what he has donei>.<n id="1" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;Immediately<n id="1" /> after the suffering<n id="2" /> of those days, <i>the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shakeni>.<n id="3" />

And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet blast, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven<n id="1" /> to the other.p>

He<n id="1" /> said, &#8220;Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, &#8216;The Teacher says, &#8220;My time is near. I will observe the Passover with my disciples at your house.&#8221;&#8217;&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">While he was still speaking, Judas,<n id="1" /> one of the twelve, arrived. With him was a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent by the chief priests and elders of the people.

But<n id="1" /> one of those with Jesus grabbed<n id="2" /> his sword, drew it out, and struck the high priest&#8217;s slave,<n id="3" /> cutting off his ear.

At that moment Jesus said to the crowd, &#8220;Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest me like you would an outlaw?<n id="1" /> Day after day I sat teaching in the temple courts, yet<n id="2" /> you did not arrest me.

After<n id="1" /> a little while, those standing there came up to Peter and said, &#8220;You really are one of them too &#8211; even your accent<n id="2" /> gives you away!&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> Jesus<n id="2" /> began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer<n id="3" /> many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and experts in the law,<n id="4" /> and be killed, and after three days rise again.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Six days later<n id="1" /> Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John and led them alone up a high mountain privately. And he was transfigured before them,<n id="2" />

for he was teaching his disciples and telling them, &#8220;The Son of Man will be betrayed into the hands of men.<n id="1" /> They<n id="2" /> will kill him,<n id="3" /> and after three days he will rise.&#8221;<n id="4" />

who will not receive in this age<n id="1" /> a hundred times as much &#8211; homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, fields, all with persecutions<n id="2" /> &#8211; and in the age to come, eternal life.<n id="3" />

Wherever he enters, tell the owner of the house, &#8216;The Teacher says, &#8220;Where is my guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?&#8221;&#8217;

And Peter had followed him from a distance, up to the high priest&#8217;s courtyard. He<n id="1" /> was sitting with the guards<n id="2" /> and warming himself by the fire.

&#8220;I am,&#8221; said Jesus, &#8220;and you will see <i>the Son of Man sitting at the right handi><n id="1" /> of the Power<n id="2" /> and <i>coming with the clouds of heaveni>.&#8221;<n id="3" />
