<p class="bodytext">Jesus answered<n id="1" /> her, &#8220;If you had known<n id="2" /> the gift of God and who it is who said to you, &#8216;Give me some water<n id="3" /> to drink,&#8217; you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.&#8221;<n id="4" />

You people<n id="1" /> are from<n id="2" /> your father the devil, and you want to do what your father desires.<n id="3" /> He<n id="4" /> was a murderer from the beginning, and does not uphold the truth,<n id="5" /> because there is no truth in him. Whenever he lies,<n id="6" /> he speaks according to his own nature,<n id="7" /> because he is a liar and the father of lies.<n id="8" />

<p class="bodytext">Then some of the Pharisees began to say,<n id="1" /> &#8220;This man is not from God, because he does not observe<n id="2" /> the Sabbath.&#8221;<n id="3" /> But others said, &#8220;How can a man who is a sinner perform<n id="4" /> such miraculous signs?&#8221; Thus there was a division<n id="5" /> among them.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Just before the Passover feast, Jesus knew that his time<n id="1" /> had come to depart<n id="2" /> from this world to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now loved them to the very end.<n id="3" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">After this, Joseph of Arimathea, a disciple of Jesus (but secretly, because he feared the Jewish leaders<n id="1" />),<n id="2" /> asked Pilate if he could remove the body of Jesus. Pilate<n id="3" /> gave him permission, so he went and took the body away.<n id="4" />

<p class="bodytext">Jesus said to her, &#8220;Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?&#8221; Because she<n id="1" /> thought he was the gardener, she said to him, &#8220;Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will take him.&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the disciples had gathered together<n id="1" /> and locked the doors<n id="2" /> of the place<n id="3" /> because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders.<n id="4" /> Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, &#8220;Peace be with you.&#8221;

The other disciples told him, &#8220;We have seen the Lord!&#8221; But he replied,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Unless I see the wounds<n id="2" /> from the nails in his hands, and put my finger into the wounds from the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will never believe it!&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, &#8220;Simon, son of John,<n id="1" /> do you love me more than these do?&#8221;<n id="2" /> He replied,<n id="3" /> &#8220;Yes, Lord, you know I love you.&#8221;<n id="4" /> Jesus<n id="5" /> told him, &#8220;Feed my lambs.&#8221;

Jesus<n id="1" /> said<n id="2" /> a third time, &#8220;Simon, son of John, do you love me?&#8221; Peter was distressed<n id="3" /> that Jesus<n id="4" /> asked<n id="5" /> him a third time, &#8220;Do you love me?&#8221; and said,<n id="6" /> &#8220;Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.&#8221; Jesus<n id="7" /> replied,<n id="8" /> &#8220;Feed my sheep.

<p class="otpoetry">&#8216;<b><i>Andi>b> in the last days<n id="1" /> <b><i>it will be,i>b>&#8217; <b><i>God says,i>b>p> <p class="otpoetry">&#8216;<b><i>that I will pour out my Spirit on all people,i>b><n id="2" />p> <p class="otpoetry"><b><i>and your sons and your daughters will prophesy,i>b>p> <p class="otpoetry"><b><i>and your young men will see visions,i>b>p> <p class="otpoetry"><i><b>and your old men will dream dreamsb>.i>p>

let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ<n id="1" /> the Nazarene whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, this man stands before you healthy.

When they heard this, they entered the temple courts<n id="1" /> at daybreak and began teaching.<n id="2" />p> <p class="bodytext">Now when the high priest and those who were with him arrived, they summoned the Sanhedrin<n id="3" /> &#8211; that is, the whole high council<n id="4" /> of the Israelites<n id="5" /> &#8211; and sent to the jail to have the apostles<n id="6" /> brought before them.<n id="7" />

After they had passed the first and second guards,<n id="1" /> they came to the iron<n id="2" /> gate leading into the city. It<n id="3" /> opened for them by itself,<n id="4" /> and they went outside and walked down one narrow street,<n id="5" /> when at once the angel left him.

After there had been much debate,<n id="1" /> Peter stood up and said to them, &#8220;Brothers, you know that some time ago<n id="2" /> God chose<n id="3" /> me to preach to the Gentiles so they would hear the message<n id="4" /> of the gospel<n id="5" /> and believe.<n id="6" />

Also some of the Epicurean<n id="1" /> and Stoic<n id="2" /> philosophers were conversing<n id="3" /> with him, and some were asking,<n id="4" /> &#8220;What does this foolish babbler<n id="5" /> want to say?&#8221; Others said, &#8220;He seems to be a proclaimer of foreign gods.&#8221;<n id="6" /> (They said this because he was proclaiming the good news about Jesus and the resurrection.)<n id="7" />

Then Paul took the men the next day,<n id="1" /> and after he had purified himself<n id="2" /> along with them, he went to the temple and gave notice<n id="3" /> of the completion of the days of purification,<n id="4" /> when<n id="5" /> the sacrifice would be offered for each<n id="6" /> of them.

Then Festus<n id="1" /> said, &#8220;King Agrippa,<n id="2" /> and all you who are present here with us, you see this man about whom the entire Jewish populace<n id="3" /> petitioned<n id="4" /> me both in Jerusalem<n id="5" /> and here,<n id="6" /> shouting loudly<n id="7" /> that he ought not to live any longer.

I have been crucified with Christ,<n id="1" /> and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So<n id="2" /> the life I now live in the body,<n id="3" /> I live because of the faithfulness of the Son of God,<n id="4" /> who loved me and gave himself for me.

<p class="bodytext">Now as for you, the anointing<n id="1" /> that you received from him<n id="2" /> resides<n id="3" /> in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you. But as his<n id="4" /> anointing teaches you about all things, it is true and is not a lie. Just as<n id="5" /> it<n id="6" /> has taught you, you reside<n id="7" /> in him.p>
