So then, just as sin entered the world through one man and death through sin, and so death spread to all people ¹  because ²  all sinned –

And we know that all things work together ¹  for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose,

Why not? Because they pursued ¹  it not by faith but (as if it were possible) by works. ²  They stumbled over the stumbling stone, ³ 

do not boast over the branches. But if you boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.

And so ¹  all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Zion; he will remove ungodliness from Jacob.

For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever! Amen.

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except by God’s appointment, ¹  and the authorities that exist have been instituted by God.

The night has advanced toward dawn; the day is near. So then we must lay aside the works of darkness, and put on the weapons of light.

but as it is written: “Those who were not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.” ¹ 

For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, because they are understood through what has been made. So people ¹  are without excuse.

Or do you have contempt for the wealth of his kindness, forbearance, and patience, and yet do not know ¹  that God’s kindness leads you to repentance?

Therefore I exhort you, brothers and sisters, ¹  by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a sacrifice – alive, holy, and pleasing to God ²  – which is your reasonable service.

Do not be conformed ¹  to this present world, ²  but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve ³  what is the will of God – what is good and well-pleasing and perfect.

If we live, we live for the Lord; if we die, we die for the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.

concerning his Son who was a descendant ¹  of David with reference to the flesh, ² 

For I long to see you, so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift ¹  to strengthen you,

For this reason God gave them over to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged the natural sexual relations for unnatural ones, ¹ 

and know his will ¹  and approve the superior things because you receive instruction from the law, ² 

For just as it is written, “the name of God is being blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.” ¹ 

All have turned away, together they have become worthless; there is no one who shows kindness, not even one.” ¹
