It is actually reported that sexual immorality exists among you, the kind of immorality that is not permitted even among the Gentiles, so that someone is cohabiting with ¹  his father’s wife.

And you are proud! ¹  Shouldn’t you have been deeply sorrowful instead and removed the one who did this ²  from among you?

turn this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved ¹  in the day of the Lord. ² 

Clean out the old yeast so that you may be a new batch of dough – you are, in fact, without yeast. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! The sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, passive homosexual partners, ¹  practicing homosexuals, ² 

I wish that everyone was as I am. But each has his own gift from God, one this way, another that.

Now food will not bring us close to God. We are no worse if we do not eat and no better if we do.

For this reason, if food causes my brother or sister to sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I may not cause one of them ¹  to sin.

What then is my reward? That when I preach the gospel I may offer the gospel free of charge, and so not make full use of my rights in the gospel.

If an unbeliever invites you to dinner and you want to go, eat whatever is served without asking questions of conscience.

just as I also try to please everyone in all things. I do not seek my own benefit, but the benefit ¹  of many, so that they may be saved.

For every time you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

and those members we consider less honorable we clothe with greater honor, and our unpresentable members are clothed with dignity, ¹ 

And God has placed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, gifts of healing, helps, gifts of leadership, different kinds of tongues.

It is the same for you. If you do not speak clearly with your tongue, how will anyone know what is being said? For you will be speaking into the air.

What should I do? ¹  I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind. I will sing praises with my spirit, but I will also sing praises with my mind.

So then, tongues are a sign not for believers but for unbelievers. Prophecy, however, is not for unbelievers but for believers.

For I passed on to you as of first importance ¹  what I also received – that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures,

If from a human point of view I fought with wild beasts at Ephesus, ¹  what did it benefit me? If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die. ² 

And what you sow is not the body that is to be, but a bare seed ¹  – perhaps of wheat or something else.
