The <sc>Lordsc> God of Israel who rules over all<n id="1" /> says: Change the way you have been living and do what is right.<n id="2" /> If you do, I will allow you to continue to live in this land.<n id="3" />

So then, listen to what I, the <sc>Lordsc> God of Israel who rules over all,<n id="1" /> say.<n id="2" /> &#8216;I will make these people eat the bitter food of suffering and drink the poison water of judgment.<n id="3" />

Tell them that the <sc>Lord,sc> the God of Israel, says, &#8216;Anyone who does not keep the terms of the covenant will be under a curse.<n id="1" />

<p class="poetry">As your words came to me I drank them in,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">and they filled my heart with joy and happinessp> <p class="poetry">because I belong to you.<n id="2" />p>

Charge them to give their masters a message from me. Tell them, &#8216;The <sc>Lordsc> God of Israel who rules over all<n id="1" /> says to give your masters this message.<n id="2" />

Indeed, the <sc>Lordsc> God of Israel who rules over all<n id="1" /> has already spoken<n id="2" /> about the valuable articles that are left in the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s temple, in the royal palace of Judah, and in Jerusalem.

&#8220;The <sc>Lordsc> God of Israel says,<n id="1" /> &#8216;Write everything that I am about to tell you in a scroll.<n id="2" />

For the <sc>Lordsc> God of Israel who rules over all<n id="1" /> says, &#8220;Houses, fields, and vineyards will again be bought in this land.&#8221;&#8217;<n id="2" />p>

&#8220;The <sc>Lordsc> God of Israel has a message for you.<n id="1" /> &#8216;I made a covenant with your ancestors<n id="2" /> when I brought them out of Egypt where they had been slaves.<n id="3" /> It stipulated,<n id="4" />

So the <sc>Lordsc> God of Israel who rules over all says, &#8216;Jonadab son of Rechab will never lack a male descendant to serve me.&#8217;&#8221;<n id="1" />p>

Then Jeremiah said to them, &#8220;You sent me to the <sc>Lordsc> God of Israel to make your request known to him. Here is what he says to you:<n id="1" />

He will demolish the sacred pillars in the temple of the sun<n id="1" /> in Egypt and will burn down the temples of the gods of Egypt.&#8221;&#8217;&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;Because of this, the <sc>Lordsc> God of Israel who rules over all says, &#8216;I am determined to bring disaster on you,<n id="1" /> even to the point of destroying all the Judeans here.<n id="2" />

Indeed,<n id="3" /> it will be destroyed!p> <p class="poetry">Kiriathaim<n id="4" /> will suffer disgrace. It will be captured!p> <p class="poetry">Its fortress<n id="5" /> will suffer disgrace. It will be torn down!<n id="6" />p>

<p class="poetry">For the <sc>Lordsc> God of Israel who rules over all says,p> <p class="poetry">&#8216;Fair Babylon<n id="1" /> will be like a threshing floorp> <p class="poetry">which has been trampled flat for harvest.p> <p class="poetry">The time for her to be cut down and harvestedp> <p class="poetry">will come very soon.&#8217;<n id="2" />p>

<p class="bodytext">These were the living creatures<n id="1" /> which I saw at the Kebar River underneath the God of Israel; I knew that they were cherubim.

I saw<n id="1" /> the glory of the God of Israel<n id="2" /> coming from the east;<n id="3" /> the sound was like that of rushing water;<n id="4" /> and the earth radiated<n id="5" /> his glory.

I prayed to the <sc>LORDsc> my God, confessing in this way:p> <p class="bodytext">&#8220;O Lord,<n id="1" /> great and awesome God who is faithful to his covenant<n id="2" /> with those who love him and keep his commandments,

O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, pay attention, and act! Don&#8217;t delay, for your own sake, O my God! For your city and your people are called by your name.&#8221;<n id="1" />p>
