they worshiped the dragon because he had given ruling authority<n id="1" /> to the beast, and they worshiped the beast too, saying: &#8220;Who is like the beast?&#8221; and &#8220;Who is able to make war against him?&#8221;<n id="2" />

and all those who live on the earth will worship the beast,<n id="1" /> everyone whose name has not been written since the foundation of the world<n id="2" /> in the book of life belonging to the Lamb who was killed.<n id="3" />

<p class="poetry">If anyone is meant for captivity,p> <p class="poetry">into captivity he will go.p> <p class="poetry">If anyone is to be killed by the sword,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">then by the sword he must be killed.p> <p class="bodytext">This<n id="2" /> requires steadfast endurance<n id="3" /> and faith from the saints.p>

He declared<n id="1" /> in a loud voice: &#8220;Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has arrived, and worship the one who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water!&#8221;p>

So<n id="1" /> the angel swung his sickle over the earth and gathered the grapes from the vineyard<n id="2" /> of the earth and tossed them into the great<n id="3" /> winepress of the wrath of God.

Thus<n id="1" /> people<n id="2" /> were scorched by the terrible heat,<n id="3" /> yet<n id="4" /> they blasphemed the name of God, who has ruling authority<n id="5" /> over these plagues, and they would not repent and give him glory.p>

<p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> the fifth angel<n id="2" /> poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast so that<n id="3" /> darkness covered his kingdom,<n id="4" /> and people<n id="5" /> began to bite<n id="6" /> their tongues because<n id="7" /> of their pain.

For God has put into their minds<n id="1" /> to carry out his purpose<n id="2" /> by making<n id="3" /> a decision<n id="4" /> to give their royal power<n id="5" /> to the beast until the words of God are fulfilled.<n id="6" />

<p class="poetry">For all the nations<n id="1" /> have fallen<n id="2" /> fromp> <p class="poetry">the wine of her immoral passion,<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">and the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality with her,p> <p class="poetry">and the merchants of the earth have gotten rich from the power of her sensual behavior.&#8221;<n id="4" />p>

<p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> I heard another voice from heaven saying, &#8220;Come out of her, my people, so you will not take part in her sins and so you will not receive her plagues,

and will go out to deceive<n id="1" /> the nations at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog,<n id="2" /> to bring them together for the battle. They are as numerous as the grains of sand in the sea.<n id="3" />

They<n id="1" /> went up<n id="2" /> on the broad plain of the earth<n id="3" /> and encircled<n id="4" /> the camp<n id="5" /> of the saints and the beloved city, but<n id="6" /> fire came down from heaven and devoured them completely.<n id="7" />

And the devil who deceived<n id="1" /> them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur,<n id="2" /> where the beast and the false prophet are<n id="3" /> too, and they will be tormented there day and night forever and ever.p>

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: &#8220;Look! The residence<n id="1" /> of God is among human beings.<n id="2" /> He<n id="3" /> will live among them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them.<n id="4" />

<p class="bodytext">Blessed are those who wash their robes so they can have access<n id="1" /> to the tree of life and can enter into the city by the gates.

<p class="bodytext">I testify to the one who hears the words of the prophecy contained in this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described<n id="1" /> in this book.

&#8216;I know<n id="1" /> where you live &#8211; where Satan&#8217;s throne is. Yet<n id="2" /> you continue to cling<n id="3" /> to my name and you have not denied your<n id="4" /> faith in me,<n id="5" /> even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness,<n id="6" /> who was killed in your city<n id="7" /> where Satan lives.

Listen!<n id="1" /> I am going to make those people from the synagogue<n id="2" /> of Satan &#8211; who say they are Jews yet<n id="3" /> are not, but are lying &#8211; Look, I will make<n id="4" /> them come and bow down<n id="5" /> at your feet and acknowledge<n id="6" /> that I have loved you.

So<n id="1" /> I said to him, &#8220;My lord, you know the answer.&#8221;<n id="2" /> Then<n id="3" /> he said to me, &#8220;These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation. They<n id="4" /> have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb!

So<n id="1" /> I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. He<n id="2" /> said to me, &#8220;Take the scroll<n id="3" /> and eat it. It<n id="4" /> will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth.&#8221;
