But you said to your servants, ‘If your youngest brother does not come down with you, you will not see my face again.’

Indeed,<n id="1" /> your servant pledged security for the boy with my father, saying, &#8216;If I do not bring him back to you, then I will bear the blame before my father all my life.&#8217;p>

<n id="1" /> &#8220;When you assist<n id="2" /> the Hebrew women in childbirth, observe at the delivery:<n id="3" /> If it is a son, kill him,<n id="4" /> but if it is a daughter, she may live.&#8221;<n id="5" />

&#8220;If<n id="1" /> they do not believe you or pay attention to<n id="2" /> the former sign, then they may<n id="3" /> believe the latter sign.<n id="4" />

Do not eat it raw<n id="1" /> or boiled in water, but roast it over the fire with its head, its legs, and its entrails.

If his master gave<n id="1" /> him a wife, and she bore sons or daughters, the wife and the children will belong to her master, and he will go out by himself.

If she does not please<n id="1" /> her master, who has designated her<n id="2" /> for himself, then he must let her be redeemed.<n id="3" /> He has no right<n id="4" /> to sell her to a foreign nation, because he has dealt deceitfully<n id="5" /> with her.

and then<n id="1" /> if he gets up and walks about<n id="2" /> outside on his staff, then the one who struck him is innocent, except he must pay<n id="3" /> for the injured person&#8217;s<n id="4" /> loss of time<n id="5" /> and see to it that he is fully healed.p>

If the ox gores a male servant or a female servant, the owner<n id="1" /> must pay thirty shekels of silver,<n id="2" /> and the ox must be stoned.<n id="3" />p>

If the stolen item should in fact be found<n id="1" /> alive in his possession,<n id="2" /> whether it be an ox or a donkey or a sheep, he must pay back double.<n id="3" />p>

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;If a man gives his neighbor money or articles<n id="1" /> for safekeeping,<n id="2" /> and it is stolen from the man&#8217;s house, if the thief is caught,<n id="3" /> he must repay double.

then there will be an oath to the <sc>Lordsc><n id="1" /> between the two of them, that he has not laid his hand on his neighbor&#8217;s goods, and its owner will accept this, and he will not have to pay.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;If you lend money to any of<n id="1" /> my people who are needy among you, do not be like a moneylender<n id="2" /> to him; do not charge<n id="3" /> him interest.<n id="4" />

But if you diligently obey him<n id="1" /> and do all that I command, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and I will be an adversary to your adversaries.

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;If his offering is a burnt offering<n id="1" /> from the herd he must present it as a flawless male; he must present it at the entrance<n id="2" /> of the Meeting Tent for its<n id="3" /> acceptance before the <sc>Lordsc>.

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;If the high priest<n id="1" /> sins so that the people are guilty,<n id="2" /> on account of the sin he has committed he must present a flawless young bull to the <sc>Lordsc><n id="3" /> for a sin offering.<n id="4" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;When a person sins<n id="1" /> in that he hears a public curse against one who fails to testify<n id="2" /> and he is a witness (he either saw or knew what had happened<n id="3" />) and he does not make it known,<n id="4" /> then he will bear his punishment for iniquity.<n id="5" />

The priest must then examine it on the seventh day, and if it is spreading further<n id="1" /> on the skin, then the priest is to pronounce him unclean. It is a diseased infection.<n id="2" />
