“To ¹  the angel of the church in Philadelphia write the following: ²  “This is the solemn pronouncement of ³  the Holy One, the True One, who holds the key of David, who opens doors ⁴  no one can shut, and shuts doors ⁵  no one can open:

and all those who live on the earth will worship the beast, ¹  everyone whose name has not been written since the foundation of the world ²  in the book of life belonging to the Lamb who was killed. ³ 

These two have the power ¹  to close up the sky so that it does not rain during the time ²  they are prophesying. They ³  have power ⁴  to turn the waters to blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague whenever they want.

But ¹  the woman was given the two wings of a giant eagle so that she could fly out into the wilderness, ²  to the place God ³  prepared for her, where she is taken care of – away from the presence of the serpent – for a time, times, and half a time. ⁴ 

Another ¹  angel holding ²  a golden censer ³  came and was stationed ⁴  at the altar. A ⁵  large amount of incense was given to him to offer up, with the prayers of all the saints, on the golden altar that is before the throne.

So ¹  I threw myself down ²  at his feet to worship him, but ³  he said, “Do not do this! ⁴  I am only ⁵  a fellow servant ⁶  with you and your brothers ⁷  who hold to the testimony about ⁸  Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony about Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

They will stand a long way off because they are afraid of her torment, and will say, “Woe, woe, O great city, Babylon the powerful city! For in a single hour your doom ¹  has come!”

“To ¹  the angel of the church in Sardis write the following: ²  “This is the solemn pronouncement of ³  the one who holds ⁴  the seven spirits of God and the seven stars: ‘I know your deeds, that you have a reputation ⁵  that you are alive, but ⁶  in reality ⁷  you are dead.

Now ¹  the dragon’s ²  tail swept away a third of the stars in heaven and hurled them to the earth. Then ³  the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour her child as soon as it was born.

and, by the signs he was permitted to perform on behalf of the beast, he deceived those who live on the earth. He told ¹  those who live on the earth to make an image to the beast who had been wounded by the sword, but still lived.

‘I know ¹  where you live – where Satan’s throne is. Yet ²  you continue to cling ³  to my name and you have not denied your ⁴  faith in me, ⁵  even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, ⁶  who was killed in your city ⁷  where Satan lives.

Then ¹  another angel came out of the temple, shouting in a loud voice to the one seated on the cloud, “Use ²  your sickle and start to reap, ³  because the time to reap has come, since the earth’s harvest is ripe!”

But I have a few things against you: You have some people there who follow the teaching of Balaam, ¹  who instructed Balak to put a stumbling block ²  before the people ³  of Israel so they would eat food sacrificed to idols and commit sexual immorality. ⁴ 

Then ¹  I looked, and I heard an ²  eagle ³  flying directly overhead, ⁴  proclaiming with a loud voice, “Woe! Woe! Woe to those who live on the earth because of the remaining sounds of the trumpets of the three angels who are about to blow them!” ⁵ 

The ¹  armies that are in heaven, dressed in white, clean, fine linen, ²  were following him on white horses.

In ¹  those days people ²  will seek death, but ³  will not be able to ⁴  find it; they will long to die, but death will flee from them.

Then ¹  they ²  heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them: “Come up here!” So the two prophets ³  went up to heaven in a cloud while ⁴  their enemies stared at them.

Then ¹  I saw another beast ²  coming up from the earth. He ³  had two horns like a lamb, ⁴  but ⁵  was speaking like a dragon.

She was permitted to be dressed in bright, clean, fine linen” ¹  (for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints). ² 

So ¹  I began weeping bitterly ²  because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or to look into it.
