The temple King Solomon built for the Lord was 90 feet ¹  long, 30 feet ²  wide, and 45 feet ³  high.

He built high places for all his foreign wives so they could burn incense and make sacrifices to their gods. ¹ 

For six months Joab and the entire Israelite army ¹  stayed there until they had exterminated every male in Edom. ² 

He ruled for three years in Jerusalem. ¹  His mother was Maacah, the daughter of Abishalom. ² 

But I will not tear away the entire kingdom; I will leave ¹  your son one tribe for my servant David’s sake and for the sake of my chosen city Jerusalem.”

Elijah told the prophets of Baal, “Choose one of the bulls for yourselves and go first, for you are the majority. Invoke the name of your god, but do not light a fire.” ¹ 

Each one also brought to the assigned location his quota of barley and straw for the various horses. ¹ 

He said to them, “Go away for three days, then return to me.” So the people went away.

So give your servant a discerning mind ¹  so he can make judicial decisions for ²  your people and distinguish right from wrong. ³  Otherwise ⁴  no one is able ⁵  to make judicial decisions for ⁶  this great nation of yours.” ⁷ 

Solomon answered all her questions; there was no question too complex for the king. ¹ 

All Israel buried him and mourned for him, just as the Lord had predicted ¹  through his servant the prophet Ahijah.

When Jezebel heard that Naboth had been stoned to death, she ¹  said to Ahab, “Get up, take possession of the vineyard Naboth the Jezreelite refused to sell you for silver, for Naboth is no longer alive; he’s dead.”

Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go and do as you planned. ¹  But first make a small cake for me and bring it to me; then make something for yourself and your son.

then listen from heaven to their prayers for help ¹  and vindicate them. ² 

He ruled for forty-one years in Jerusalem. ¹  His grandmother ²  was Maacah daughter of Abishalom.

I will not take the whole kingdom from his hand. I will allow him to be ruler for the rest of his life for the sake of my chosen servant David who kept my commandments and rules.

Jehoshaphat built a fleet of large merchant ships ¹  to travel to Ophir for gold, but they never made the voyage because they were shipwrecked in Ezion Geber.

They even built for themselves high places, sacred pillars, and Asherah poles on every high hill and under every green tree.

She said, “I would like to ask you for just one small favor. ¹  Please don’t refuse me.” ²  He said, ³  “Go ahead and ask, my mother, for I would not refuse you.”
