Therefore it remains for some to enter it, yet those to whom it was previously proclaimed did not enter because of disobedience.

Now it was for this very purpose<n id="1" /> that the gospel was preached to those who are now dead,<n id="2" /> so that though<n id="3" /> they were judged in the flesh<n id="4" /> by human standards<n id="5" /> they may live spiritually<n id="6" /> by God&#8217;s standards.<n id="7" />p>

The blind see, the<n id="1" /> lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have good news proclaimed to them.

But the angel said to them, &#8220;Do not be afraid! Listen carefully,<n id="1" /> for I proclaim to you good news<n id="2" /> that brings great joy to all the people:

<p class="otpoetry">&#8220;<b><i>The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,i>b>p> <p class="otpoetry"><b><i>because he has anointedi>b><n id="1" /> <b><i>me to proclaim good newsi>b><n id="2" /> <i><b>to the poorb>.i><n id="3" />p> <p class="otpoetry"><b><i>He has sent mei>b><n id="4" /> <b><i>to proclaim releasei>b><n id="5" /> <b><i>to the captivesi>b>p> <p class="otpoetry"><b><i>and the regaining of sighti>b><n id="6" /> <b><i>to the blind,i>b>p> <p class="otpoetry"><b><i>to set freei>b><n id="7" /> <b><i>those who are oppressed,i>b><n id="8" />p>

But Jesus<n id="1" /> said to them, &#8220;I must<n id="2" /> proclaim the good news of the kingdom<n id="3" /> of God to the other towns<n id="4" /> too, for that is what I was sent<n id="5" /> to do.&#8221;<n id="6" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Some time<n id="1" /> afterward<n id="2" /> he went on through towns<n id="3" /> and villages, preaching and proclaiming the good news<n id="4" /> of the kingdom of God.<n id="5" /> The<n id="6" /> twelve were with him,

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;The law and the prophets were in force<n id="1" /> until John;<n id="2" /> since then,<n id="3" /> the good news of the kingdom of God<n id="4" /> has been proclaimed, and everyone is urged to enter it.<n id="5" />

But when they believed Philip as he was proclaiming the good news about the kingdom of God<n id="1" /> and the name of Jesus Christ,<n id="2" /> they began to be baptized,<n id="3" /> both men and women.

<p class="bodytext">So after Peter and John<n id="1" /> had solemnly testified<n id="2" /> and spoken the word of the Lord,<n id="3" /> they started back to Jerusalem, proclaiming<n id="4" /> the good news to many Samaritan villages<n id="5" /> as they went.<n id="6" />p>

So Philip started speaking,<n id="1" /> and beginning with this scripture<n id="2" /> proclaimed the good news about Jesus to him.

Philip, however, found himself<n id="1" /> at Azotus,<n id="2" /> and as he passed through the area,<n id="3" /> he proclaimed the good news<n id="4" /> to all the towns<n id="5" /> until he came to Caesarea.<n id="6" />p>

But there were some men from Cyprus<n id="1" /> and Cyrene<n id="2" /> among them who came<n id="3" /> to Antioch<n id="4" /> and began to speak to the Greeks<n id="5" /> too, proclaiming the good news of the Lord Jesus.

And we proclaim to you the good news about the promise to our ancestors,<n id="1" />

But Paul and Barnabas remained in Antioch,<n id="1" /> teaching and proclaiming (along with many others)<n id="2" /> the word of the Lord.<n id="3" />p>

After Paul<n id="1" /> saw the vision, we attempted<n id="2" /> immediately to go over to Macedonia,<n id="3" /> concluding that God had called<n id="4" /> us to proclaim the good news to them.p>

For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel &#8211; and not with clever speech, so that the cross of Christ would not become useless.<n id="1" />p>

What then is my reward? That when I preach the gospel I may offer the gospel free of charge, and so not make full use of my rights in the gospel.p>
