Do ¹  not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

And if this is how God clothes the wild grass, ¹  which is here today and tomorrow is tossed into the fire to heat the oven, ²  won’t he clothe you even more, ³  you people of little faith?

They ¹  cried out, “Son of God, leave us alone! ²  Have you come here to torment us before the time?” ³ 

He answered them, ¹  “And why do you disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition?

For God said, ¹  ‘Honor your father and mother’ ²  and ‘Whoever insults his father or mother must be put to death.’ ³ 

As a result, the crowd was amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled healthy, the lame walking, and the blind seeing, and they praised the God of Israel.

Again I say, ¹  it is easier for a camel ²  to go through the eye of a needle ³  than for a rich person to enter into the kingdom of God.”

For this reason I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a people ¹  who will produce its fruit.

Jesus ¹  answered them, “You are deceived, ²  because you don’t know the scriptures or the power of God.

And whoever swears by heaven swears by the throne of God and the one who sits on it.

and declared, “This man ¹  said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’”

“Look! The virgin will conceive and bear a son, and they will call him ¹  Emmanuel,” ²  which means ³  “God with us.” ⁴ 

and don’t think you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that God can raise up children for Abraham from these stones!

After ¹  Jesus was baptized, just as he was coming up out of the water, the ²  heavens ³  opened ⁴  and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove ⁵  and coming on him.

and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written, ‘He will command his angels concerning you’ ¹  and ‘with their hands they will lift you up, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’” ² 

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate ¹  the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise ²  the other. You cannot serve God and money. ³ 

how he entered the house of God and they ate ¹  the sacred bread, ²  which was against the law ³  for him or his companions to eat, but only for the priests? ⁴ 

But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me, because you are not setting your mind on God’s interests, but on man’s.” ¹ 

Jesus ¹  said to him, “‘Love ²  the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ ³ 

and saying, “You who can destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself! ¹  If you are God’s Son, come down ²  from the cross!”
