This calls for wisdom:<n id="1" /> Let the one who has insight calculate the beast&#8217;s number, for it is man&#8217;s number,<n id="2" /> and his number is 666.<n id="3" />p>

<p class="bodytext">A<n id="1" /> third angel<n id="2" /> followed the first two,<n id="3" /> declaring<n id="4" /> in a loud voice: &#8220;If anyone worships the beast and his image, and takes the mark on his forehead or his hand,

<p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> the fifth angel<n id="2" /> poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast so that<n id="3" /> darkness covered his kingdom,<n id="4" /> and people<n id="5" /> began to bite<n id="6" /> their tongues because<n id="7" /> of their pain.

So<n id="1" /> he carried me away in the Spirit<n id="2" /> to a wilderness,<n id="3" /> and there<n id="4" /> I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns.

But<n id="1" /> the angel said to me, &#8220;Why are you astounded? I will interpret<n id="2" /> for you the mystery of the woman and of the beast with the seven heads and ten horns that carries her.

The<n id="1" /> ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but will receive ruling authority<n id="2" /> as kings with the beast for one hour.

The<n id="1" /> ten horns that you saw, and the beast &#8211; these will hate the prostitute and make her desolate and naked. They<n id="2" /> will consume her flesh and burn her up with fire.<n id="3" />

For God has put into their minds<n id="1" /> to carry out his purpose<n id="2" /> by making<n id="3" /> a decision<n id="4" /> to give their royal power<n id="5" /> to the beast until the words of God are fulfilled.<n id="6" />

<p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to do battle with the one who rode the horse and with his army.

And the devil who deceived<n id="1" /> them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur,<n id="2" /> where the beast and the false prophet are<n id="3" /> too, and they will be tormented there day and night forever and ever.p>

So<n id="1" /> I looked<n id="2" /> and here came<n id="3" /> a pale green<n id="4" /> horse! The<n id="5" /> name of the one who rode it<n id="6" /> was Death, and Hades followed right behind.<n id="7" /> They<n id="8" /> were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill its population with the sword,<n id="9" /> famine, and disease,<n id="10" /> and by the wild animals of the earth.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> I saw a beast coming up out of the sea. It<n id="2" /> had ten horns and seven heads, and on its horns were ten diadem crowns,<n id="3" /> and on its heads a blasphemous name.<n id="4" />

Now<n id="1" /> the beast that I saw was like a leopard, but its feet were like a bear&#8217;s, and its mouth was like a lion&#8217;s mouth. The<n id="2" /> dragon gave the beast<n id="3" /> his power, his throne, and great authority to rule.<n id="4" />

And the smoke from their<n id="1" /> torture will go up<n id="2" /> forever and ever, and those who worship the beast and his image will have<n id="3" /> no rest day or night, along with<n id="4" /> anyone who receives the mark of his name.&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> I saw something like a sea of glass<n id="2" /> mixed with fire, and those who had conquered<n id="3" /> the beast and his image and the number of his name. They were standing<n id="4" /> by<n id="5" /> the sea of glass, holding harps given to them by God.<n id="6" />

So<n id="1" /> the first angel<n id="2" /> went and poured out his bowl on the earth. Then<n id="3" /> ugly and painful sores<n id="4" /> appeared on the people<n id="5" /> who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image.p>

<p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> I saw thrones and seated on them were those who had been given authority to judge.<n id="2" /> I also saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of the testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. These<n id="3" /> had not worshiped the beast or his image and had refused to receive his mark on their forehead or hand. They<n id="4" /> came to life<n id="5" /> and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
