and Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew,<n id="1" /> Matthew, Thomas,<n id="2" /> James the son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus,<n id="3" /> Simon the Zealot,<n id="4" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him and said, &#8220;Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask.&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">So<n id="1" /> while he was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John,<n id="2" /> and Andrew asked him privately,

There were also women, watching from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joses,<n id="1" /> and Salome.

<t /><p class="bodytext">When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought aromatic spices<n id="1" /> so that they might go and anoint him.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> about eight days<n id="2" /> after these sayings, Jesus<n id="3" /> took with him Peter, John, and James, and went up the mountain to pray.

Now when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, &#8220;Lord, do you want us <i>to call fire to come down from heaven and consumei><n id="1" /> <i>themi>?&#8221;<n id="2" />

Now it was Mary Magdalene,<n id="1" /> Joanna,<n id="2" /> Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who told these things to the apostles.

Until<n id="1" /> certain people came from James, he had been eating with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he stopped doing this<n id="2" /> and separated himself<n id="3" /> because he was afraid of those who were pro-circumcision.<n id="4" />

Going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in a boat<n id="1" /> with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. Then<n id="2" /> he called them.

Now these are the names of the twelve apostles:<n id="1" /> first, Simon<n id="2" /> (called Peter), and Andrew his brother; James son of Zebedee and John his brother;

Isn&#8217;t this the carpenter&#8217;s son? Isn&#8217;t his mother named Mary?<n id="1" /> And aren&#8217;t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas?

Isn&#8217;t this the carpenter, the son<n id="1" /> of Mary<n id="2" /> and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And aren&#8217;t his sisters here with us?&#8221; And so they took offense at him.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Six days later<n id="1" /> Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John and led them alone up a high mountain privately. And he was transfigured before them,<n id="2" />

and so were James and John, Zebedee&#8217;s sons, who were Simon&#8217;s business partners.<n id="1" /> Then<n id="2" /> Jesus said to Simon, &#8220;Do not be afraid; from now on<n id="3" /> you will be catching people.&#8221;<n id="4" />

Now when he came to the house, Jesus<n id="1" /> did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John,<n id="2" /> and James, and the child&#8217;s father and mother.

He motioned to them<n id="1" /> with his hand to be quiet and then related<n id="2" /> how the Lord had brought<n id="3" /> him out of the prison. He said, &#8220;Tell James and the brothers these things,&#8221; and then he left and went to another place.<n id="4" />p>

and when James, Cephas,<n id="1" /> and John, who had a reputation as<n id="2" /> pillars,<n id="3" /> recognized<n id="4" /> the grace that had been given to me, they gave to Barnabas and me<n id="5" /> the right hand of fellowship, agreeing<n id="6" /> that we would go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.<n id="7" />
