<t /><p class="bodytext">Now a certain man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village where Mary and her sister Martha lived.<n id="1" />

so many of the Jewish people of the region<n id="1" /> had come to Martha and Mary to console them<n id="2" /> over the loss of their brother.)<n id="3" />

So when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him, but Mary was sitting in the house.<n id="1" />

But Mary stood outside the tomb weeping. As she wept, she bent down and looked into the tomb.

Jesus said to her, &#8220;Mary.&#8221; She<n id="1" /> turned and said to him in Aramaic,<n id="2" /> &#8220;<i>Rabbonii>&#8221;<n id="3" /> (which means Teacher).<n id="4" />

So<n id="1" /> Mary said, &#8220;Yes,<n id="2" /> I am a servant<n id="3" /> of the Lord; let this happen to me<n id="4" /> according to your word.&#8221;<n id="5" /> Then<n id="6" /> the angel departed from her.p>

So they hurried off and located Mary and Joseph, and found the baby lying in a manger.<n id="1" />

and also some women<n id="1" /> who had been healed of evil spirits and disabilities:<n id="2" /> Mary<n id="3" /> (called Magdalene), from whom seven demons had gone out,

She<n id="1" /> had a sister named Mary, who sat<n id="2" /> at the Lord&#8217;s feet<n id="3" /> and listened to what he said.

(Now it was Mary who anointed the Lord with perfumed oil<n id="1" /> and wiped his feet dry with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">And when she had said this, Martha<n id="1" /> went and called her sister Mary, saying privately,<n id="2" /> &#8220;The Teacher is here and is asking for you.&#8221;<n id="3" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then many of the people,<n id="1" /> who had come with Mary and had seen the things Jesus<n id="2" /> did, believed in him.

Mary Magdalene came and informed the disciples, &#8220;I have seen the Lord!&#8221; And she told them<n id="1" /> what<n id="2" /> Jesus<n id="3" /> had said to her.<n id="4" />p>

All these continued together in prayer with one mind, together with the women, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.<n id="1" />

<p class="bodytext">When Peter<n id="1" /> realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John Mark,<n id="2" /> where many people had gathered together and were praying.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now the birth of Jesus Christ happened this way. While his mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, but before they came together,<n id="1" /> she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.

As they came into the house and saw the child with Mary his mother, they bowed down<n id="1" /> and worshiped him. They opened their treasure boxes and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense,<n id="2" /> and myrrh.<n id="3" />

Isn&#8217;t this the carpenter&#8217;s son? Isn&#8217;t his mother named Mary?<n id="1" /> And aren&#8217;t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas?

Isn&#8217;t this the carpenter, the son<n id="1" /> of Mary<n id="2" /> and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And aren&#8217;t his sisters here with us?&#8221; And so they took offense at him.

When<n id="1" /> Elizabeth heard Mary&#8217;s greeting, the baby leaped<n id="2" /> in her<n id="3" /> womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.<n id="4" />
