where he is now waiting<n id="1" /> <i>until his enemies are made a footstool for his feeti>.<n id="2" />

And the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us, for after saying,<n id="1" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Therefore, brothers and sisters,<n id="1" /> since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus,

And let us hold unwaveringly to the hope that we confess, for the one who made the promise is trustworthy.

For he has spoken somewhere about the seventh day in this way: &#8220;<b><i>And God rested on the seventh day from all his worksi>b>,&#8221;<n id="1" />

For the one who enters God&#8217;s<n id="1" /> rest has also rested from his works, just as God did from his own works.

In the same way<n id="1" /> God wanted to demonstrate more clearly to the heirs of the promise that his purpose was unchangeable,<n id="2" /> and so he intervened with an oath,

For a tent was prepared, the outer one,<n id="1" /> which contained<n id="2" /> the lampstand, the table, and the presentation of the loaves; this<n id="3" /> is called the holy place.

But only the high priest enters once a year into the inner tent,<n id="1" /> and not without blood that he offers for himself and for the sins of the people committed in ignorance.<n id="2" />

The Holy Spirit is making clear that the way into the holy place had not yet appeared as long as the old tabernacle<n id="1" /> was standing.

By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of the blood,<n id="1" /> so that the one who destroyed the firstborn would not touch them.

For the bodies of those animals whose blood the high priest brings<n id="1" /> into the sanctuary as an offering for sin are burned outside the camp.

The Son is<n id="1" /> the radiance of his glory and the representation of his essence, and he sustains all things by his powerful word,<n id="2" /> and so when he had accomplished cleansing for sins, <i>he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on highi>.<n id="3" />

Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, he likewise shared in<n id="1" /> their humanity,<n id="2" /> so that through death he could destroy<n id="3" /> the one who holds the power of death (that is, the devil),

And those of the sons of Levi who receive the priestly office<n id="1" /> have authorization according to the law to collect a tithe from the people, that is, from their fellow countrymen,<n id="2" /> although they too are descendants of Abraham.<n id="3" />

It contained the golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered entirely with gold. In this ark<n id="1" /> were the golden urn containing the manna, Aaron&#8217;s rod that budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant.

<t /><p class="bodytext">For the law possesses a shadow of the good things to come but not the reality itself, and is therefore completely unable, by the same sacrifices offered continually, year after year, to perfect those who come to worship.<n id="1" />

How much greater punishment do you think that person deserves who has contempt for<n id="1" /> the Son of God, and profanes<n id="2" /> the blood of the covenant that made him holy,<n id="3" /> and insults the Spirit of grace?

Therefore he had<n id="1" /> to be made like his brothers and sisters<n id="2" /> in every respect, so that he could become a merciful and faithful high priest in things relating to God, to make atonement<n id="3" /> for the sins of the people.

For though you should in fact be teachers by this time,<n id="1" /> you need someone to teach you the beginning elements of God&#8217;s utterances.<n id="2" /> You have gone back to needing<n id="3" /> milk, not<n id="4" /> solid food.
